Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years of previous food service, retail, or restaurant supervisory experience is required.
  • Proficiency in analyzing restaurant profit and loss statements and overall financial performance is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit and select team members is required.
  • Knowledge of labor laws is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills are required.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage, train, develop, and motivate a diverse, highly engaged crew are required.
  • The candidate must be at least 18 years old.
  • The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and able to adapt to new systems quickly.
  • The candidate must be able to work 50–60 hours per week, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • The candidate must be able to solve problems, accept feedback, and improve.
  • The candidate must be able to set goals, create action plans, implement those plans, and measure performance objectively and subjectively.
Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic and tactical leadership for the restaurant.
  • Maintain restaurant operations and drive results through people development, sales, and profit growth.
  • Hire, train, and develop team members who share the company mission.
  • Convey the company culture to the restaurant crew and demonstrate dedication to brand success.
  • Staff the restaurant in a timely and efficient manner with a carefully selected team.
  • Ensure the restaurant environment is safe for team members and guests.
  • Oversee the orientation and onboarding process and ensure it is executed properly.
  • Write, implement, or monitor shift-leader development and performance plans, and ensure performance plans are executed as needed.
  • Make final hiring and separation decisions for the restaurant and ensure proper procedures are followed for hiring, promotions, and separations.
  • Create team-member schedules based on expected sales volumes, availability, payroll, and overtime costs.
  • Own the performance of the entire team and create a culture of respect, recognition, and reward.
  • Audit operational activities, provide feedback, and develop solutions to facilitate improvements.
  • Understand budget and cost trends affecting operations.
  • Create a business plan and perform financial analysis.
  • Control cash, property, products, and equipment.
  • Build sales, control labor and food costs, meet targets set by operations leadership, and set goals to drive business metrics.
  • Maintain restaurant operational standards and requirements.
  • Identify and communicate maintenance problems to the Facilities Department.
  • Maintain facilities according to company standards.
  • Ensure communication is passed from the District Manager to every restaurant team member.
  • Use company-provided tools to coach, mentor, and develop team members and ensure a high-performing restaurant team.
  • Leverage support from the Restaurant Support Center.
  • Ensure risk-management issues comply with company standards.
  • Cultivate an attractive restaurant culture and represent the brand culture and mission.
Desired Qualifications
  • Some college education is preferred.
  • Passion for hospitality and serving guests is desirable.
