Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in embedded software engineering
  • Proficient in C and C++, very familiar with Python
  • Extensive, hands-on experience working with the Yocto project
  • Strong understanding of real-time operating systems
  • Strong understanding of computer architecture
  • Strong understanding of networking
  • Strong understanding of wireless communication systems
  • Deep background in access controls, system software for memory management, debug tools, process management amongst others
  • Deep background in building platforms for embedded system software
  • Good understanding of the Linux operating system
  • Understand how to put things together at a high level for an embedded system
  • Deep understanding of networking and explain how packets and headers work in major network protocols
  • Can contribute to planning future generations of the product
  • Can collaborate with team members of other engineering disciplines in all phases of the engineering process including analysis, design, implementation and test
Responsibilities
  • Maintain Yocto-project-based embedded linux system for a custom hardware
  • Write applications and drivers for embedded devices, working on embedded Linux systems
  • Contribute to debugging and resolving issues during customer deployment
  • Take ownership of software modules and demonstrate responsibility for their development
  • Collaborate closely with team members from various engineering disciplines, participating in all stages of the engineering process, including analysis, design, implementation, and testing
  • Implement algorithms in RFID and other protocols on a real-time embedded processor
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in at least one wireless technology; RFID, Wifi, LTE, or BLE
  • Worked on multiple projects demonstrating breadth of expertise
  • Experience working on ARM platforms
  • Hands-on experience in projects related to wireless controllers/gateways
