About the job

Requirements
  • You have been the first or very early finance hire at a high-growth company and have personally implemented systems, closed the books, owned the model, and taken a company through its first audits.
  • You are comfortable toggling between high-level strategy and ground-level detail, including fixing ERP mappings and presenting board-ready scenarios.
  • You have a strong command of driver-based modeling, scenario analysis, and cohort economics, paired with judgment to simplify and focus on what moves the business.

  • You are comfortable reviewing terms, standardizing templates, and leading vendor renegotiations that materially improve unit economics.
  • You have experience supporting compensation design, leveling, and workforce planning.
  • You can work remotely within United States time zones and travel approximately six weeks per year for company offsites, a new-location launch, and onboarding.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and employment verification.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain and continuously improve a driver-based, forward-looking model that maps to reality.
  • Build base, low, and high scenarios, pressure-test assumptions, and translate business levers into clear tradeoffs for leadership.
  • Track and improve margins and profit-and-loss statements by location; cohort and segment by region, seasonality, and property type; surface insights; and partner with Operations to increase contribution margin and reduce complexity.
  • Build reliable budget-versus-actuals and key performance indicator dashboards covering cash, runway, sales productivity, marketing efficiency, and portfolio performance.
  • Lead the transition from QuickBooks to a scalable enterprise resource planning system, rationalize the chart of accounts, tighten close processes, and ensure clean books that roll up to corporate.
  • Own Carta administration, option grants, refreshes, and board approvals.
  • Maintain consistent metric definitions, a clean data room, and monthly and quarterly reporting so the company remains investor- and board-ready.
  • Identify major cost categories, renegotiate vendor agreements, standardize commercial terms, and partner with Sales and Operations on scalable templates.
  • Partner with leadership on compensation philosophy, leveling frameworks, annual reviews, and headcount planning aligned with goals and runway.
  • Coordinate commercial contract review, insurance matters, and office operations; engage external counsel efficiently; and build toward pragmatic in-house legal coverage.
  • Maintain cash forecasts, evaluate debt options, cultivate banking relationships, and plan for audits as the company grows.
  • Build return-on-investment templates and decision frameworks so teams can rank projects and evaluate payback periods.
  • Own the legibility of critical business metrics for the leadership team and shape the finance function's processes, systems, and culture.
Desired Qualifications
  • Multi-location business exposure.
  • Revenue-share or transactional business exposure.
  • Hardware or inventory familiarity.
  • Prior ownership of legal and general and administrative functions beyond pure finance.
  • Experience preparing for and leading a company's first audits.
  • Finance experience at a company executing a roll-up or mergers-and-acquisitions-driven growth strategy.

About the company

AirGarage partners with real estate owners to operate and monetize parking facilities across the United States and Canada through a full-service parking management platform. Its system uses license plate recognition (LPR) cameras to monitor entry and exit, enabling gateless and ticketless parking, and it automates enforcement by identifying vehicles that haven’t paid. The platform also applies dynamic pricing to optimize revenue based on demand. AirGarage operates on a revenue-sharing model with property owners, handling facility management in exchange for a portion of the parking income. Drivers can discover and pay for parking via AirGarage’s website and partner marketplaces. The company differentiates itself through its vertically integrated tech platform, LPR-based gateless operation, demand-driven pricing, and a partner-focused monetization approach that aligns incentives with property owners, aiming to increase asset utilization and revenue for its clients.
