Requirements
Must hold an active license and current registration in the state of Illinois.
Must hold current CPR certification.
Must be able to initiate a nursing plan of care and identify appropriate nursing interventions and evaluations.
Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Must have excellent working knowledge of the Nursing Process and strong nursing practice skills, including physical assessment.
Must demonstrate proficiency in clinical and technical skills specific to the assigned department.
Must be able to meet the physical demands of medium-to-heavy work, including routinely lifting more than 50 pounds; standing and walking for most of the shift; and lifting, pushing, pulling, sitting, bending, and reaching.
May be exposed to infectious diseases and works indoors.
Responsibilities
Provide professional nursing care for patients on assigned nursing units in accordance with established statutes, standards, and practices.
Use an understanding of growth and development principles to assess each patient's age-specific needs and provide age-specific treatment and care.
Use all resources in the initial assessment of patient needs, including biophysical, psychosocial, cultural, environmental, discharge-planning, self-care, and education needs.
Reassess patients each shift, upon transfer or discharge, and more frequently as necessary.
Practice universal precautions, infection control, and isolation procedures; maintain accurate and concise documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, and patient responses.
Participate in discharge planning and ensure that a written teaching and discharge plan is developed for assigned patients, covering disease process, complications, medications, diet, physical activity, and self-care needs.
Demonstrate understanding of the roles of all health care providers to appropriately meet patient needs.
Make effective nursing judgments in routine and emergency situations.
Perform other roles and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements
Education and Experience:
Licensed and current registration in the state of Illinois.
Current CPR certification.
