Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience working with Corporate and Investment Bank clients and strong communication and internal and external stakeholder management skills.
  • Good understanding of banking products and services, client onboarding, and lifecycle management processes, with proven experience coordinating teams across Front Office, Operations, Product, and support functions to drive complex client journeys from initiation through client readiness.
  • Demonstrated experience in onboarding execution, deal coordination, and client readiness in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, managing competing priorities while maintaining a robust focus on risk and control.
  • Good organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously and ensure delivery against critical deal and client timelines.
  • Demonstrated experience driving continuous improvement and business change initiatives, partnering with global teams and third-party vendors to simplify processes and embed new ways of working to achieve business and operational outcomes.
  • The role is a Certified role under the PRA and UK Financial Conduct Authority Individual Accountabilities Regulations and may require mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.
Responsibilities
  • Support day-to-day Wholesale Onboarding initiatives, including KYC processing, reviewing (which can include quality checking), reporting, trading, and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate and engage with clients and Front Office to gather Customer Due Diligence information and evidence to onboard or refresh clients' KYC in line with documented policy.
  • Collaborate with teams across the bank to align and integrate Wholesale Onboarding processes.
  • Identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations for change in Wholesale Onboarding processes.
  • Develop and implement Wholesale Onboarding procedures and controls to mitigate risks and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Develop reports and presentations on Wholesale Onboarding performance and communicate findings to internal senior stakeholders.
  • Identify industry trends and developments to implement best practice in Wholesale Onboarding.
  • Participate in projects and initiatives to improve Wholesale Onboarding efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support client outreach, document collection, onboarding case coordination, and process optimisation within the Client Deal Services team embedded with the Front Office Investment Bank business.
  • Lead collaborative assignments and guide team members through structured assignments; identify when other areas of specialisation should be included, identify new directions for assignments or projects, and combine cross-functional methodologies or practices to meet required outcomes.
  • Consult on complex issues and advise People Leaders to support resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies and procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership of managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Perform work closely related to other areas, requiring understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to organisational sub-function objectives.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work and, for business-aligned support areas, keep up to speed with business activity and strategy.
  • Analyse data from multiple internal and external sources, such as procedures and practices in other areas, teams, or companies, to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Communicate complex or sensitive information clearly to relevant audiences.
  • Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.

Barclays appoints Wee Yee-Yeong to head private bank in Singapore and Asia

Barclays has appointed Wee Yee-Yeong as head of private bank for Singapore and Asia, effective later this year. He will oversee private banking operations in Singapore and lead regional strategy for international Asian clients. Yee-Yeong joins from Morgan Stanley, where he serves as chief executive and head of sales for Singapore wealth management. He brings over 20 years of wealth management experience, having held senior positions at Bank of Singapore, Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, UBS Wealth Management, and Merrill Lynch. He will replace Alexander Harrison, who served as interim head. Form Energy closes $270M credit facility to scale iron-air battery production

Form Energy has closed a $270 million credit facility to support its energy storage technology development. The facility comprises a revolving credit facility and a tax credit advance facility linked to Section 45X Advanced Manufacturing Production Credit. An accordion feature allows the facility to expand to $1 billion. Barclays served as sole structuring bank, with Citi, Jefferies, JPMorgan Chase, RBC Capital Markets, Societe Generale, Stifel, and Wells Fargo participating in the lending syndicate. The financing follows Form Energy's $750 million Series G funding round in August, bringing total equity raised to over $2 billion.
