  • Knowledge of general safe operating procedures.
  • Skilled in using electrical testing instruments.
  • Basic reading and writing skills in English.
  • Ability to lift, grasp and/or carry supplies or equipment weighing up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders, working at heights up to approximately 25 feet.
  • Ability to perform duties in confined spaces.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping and kneeling.
  • Hearing ability to respond to beeper communication.
  • Visual ability in order to identify and locate existing problem.
  • 3–5 years of HVAC and/or commercial kitchen equipment repair experience.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work on ladders, and perform physical tasks as required.
  • 3-5 years Hotel/resort experience
  • Experience in general building maintenance procedures.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain the hotel facility and related equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Manage adequate inventory of parts, supplies, tools, and material for the department.
  • Must be able to respond to emergency situations, such as fire alarms, and other life-safety situations.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all federal, state, local laws, codes, and regulations.
  • Conducts walk-through and visually assesses the safe and efficient maintenance and operation of the physical structures of the property, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, and any other related equipment.
  • Perform general maintenance to guestrooms and public areas.
  • Receive daily work assignments and review priorities and special projects.
  • Maintain timelines and work schedule in accordance with the preventive maintenance program.
  • Perform electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting, and carpentry work orders as needed.
  • Assist other engineering personnel as instructed by Manager in regards to routine and preventive maintenance.
  • Lead the daily operations of HVAC and kitchen mechanical maintenance, assigning tasks and guiding maintenance engineers as needed.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems including chillers, boilers, air handlers, exhaust systems, thermostats, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Maintain and repair commercial kitchen equipment such as ovens, steamers, dishwashers, fryers, warmers, combi-ovens, and ice machines.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts usage, and equipment status.
  • Assist with vendor coordination, equipment quotes, and scheduling external repairs when needed.
  • Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests to minimize operational impact.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards, building codes, and company policies.
  • Train and support team members on equipment operation, safety, and troubleshooting.
  • Partner with the Engineering leadership team regarding project planning, capital needs, and equipment replacement recommendations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop and mechanical areas.
