Requirements
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings, or other structures.
  • Ability to perform job duties with little to no supervision.
  • Ability to lay out, form, pour, and finish concrete flatwork.
  • General understanding of construction practices.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • A valid driver’s license and insurability under the company insurance provider/program.
  • Ability to work 40 or more hours per week, including overtime and Saturdays as needed.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions for long periods of time.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift 50 pounds or more, and frequently move equipment up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to perform strenuous physical labor and demonstrate manual dexterity, multi-limb coordination, and stamina.
Responsibilities
  • Study specifications to plan construction procedures based on start and completion times, staffing requirements, available tools and equipment, and building methods.
  • Assemble supervisory, clerical, engineering, and other organizational members at the start of a project.
  • Order tools and materials for delivery at specified times according to work schedules.
  • Work with supervisory and engineering personnel, inspectors, and suppliers to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
  • Direct supervisory personnel and subcontractors in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating construction phases to prevent delays.
  • Consult supervisory personnel and labor representatives to resolve workforce complaints and grievances.
  • Inspect work in progress to ensure conformity with specifications and adherence to construction schedules.
  • Prepare or receive reports on progress, materials used, and costs, and adjust work schedules based on those reports.
  • Direct workers involved in major maintenance or reconditioning projects for existing installations when required.
  • Oversee all operations within the construction environment.
  • Attend company safety training sessions regularly.
Desired Qualifications
  • Five or more years of experience in a related area.
  • An Associate’s and/or Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
