About the Job

Requirements

  • An associate degree in electronics/electrical technology, or equivalent military electronics/avionics training, trade school, or hands-on work experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in an electronics manufacturing, test, integration, or equipment-maintenance environment; military or field-maintenance experience counts.
  • Hands-on ability to assemble, connect, and disassemble hardware using common hand tools.
  • Ability to connect and troubleshoot electrical and signal interfaces, including cables, connectors, network, and power, and read basic diagrams and procedures.
  • Ability to operate software and computer interfaces to run tests and read status; coding is not required.
  • Diligent documentation habits, including accurate logging of serial numbers, configurations, test results, and defects.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and coordinate with production and engineering to move parts and resolve blockers.
  • Ability to safely lift and move heavy equipment with mechanical assistance and to stand and work with hardware for extended periods.
  • Ability to follow procedures methodically and reliably.
  • Ability to work onsite, as indicated by the onsite designation.

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport radar chassis weighing over 200 pounds, using mechanical assistance or lift equipment, into and out of the test area, and set them up in the test configuration.
  • Power up radar systems, connect power, network, and signal interfaces, and bring each system to an operational state by following documented procedures.
  • Connect and verify all external system modules and interfaces, including point-to-point dishes, compass/heading modules, network upload, satellite connectivity, 5G modems, UPS, and other I/O.
  • Use the radar software interface to read system health and status, identify issues, and determine pass or fail against the test procedure.
  • Record the serialized unit, its configuration, and its current test step accurately.
  • Log defective parts or failed interfaces in the production/defect-tracking system, communicate with production to arrange part replacement, and keep the unit progressing through testing.
  • Coordinate with engineering and production to prevent testing delays caused by missing parts, equipment, or information, and flag blockers early.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe test area, including managing cables, equipment, and workspace and following ESD and electrical-safety practices.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in a regulated, defense, or aerospace hardware environment.
  • Hands-on familiarity with RF systems, antennas, networking, or power systems.
  • IPC-A-610, IPC J-STD-001, or ETA CET certification, or willingness to earn one.
  • Experience with defect-tracking, MES, or production systems, such as serialized-unit tracking.
  • Experience in an ESD-controlled environment.
  • Comfort with Linux or command-line tools; training is available.
  • Active security clearance.

About the Company

CHAOS Industries

Develops military sensor and radar systems

Chaos Industries builds defense technology by creating sensor, radar, and network systems for military and security use. Its Coherent Distributed Networks (CDN) synchronizes a network of sensors to improve detection and situational awareness across land, sea, and air, enabling earlier threat warnings. Its product line includes Vanquish multistatic radar for early warning and tracking of unmanned systems and missiles, the HYDRA software-defined platform for detection and communications, and ASTRIA for long-range mobile multi-object tracking; it has formed an Aerospace Division after acquiring Ziva Corporation and Atropos Group. The company targets U.S. and allied defense clients, focusing on software-driven systems that can be updated and deployed quickly, with the goal of delivering faster reactions and better national security readiness while expanding production and advancing its technology roadmap.
