About the job

Responsibilities
  • Own the Platform Security & Trust Roadmap by defining and prioritizing product capabilities, compliance requirements, and technical enhancements needed to maintain ACRA’s zero-trust security architecture and enterprise readiness.
  • Translate penetration-test findings, compliance mandates such as ISO 27001 and SOC 2, and technical specifications into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and API contracts for engineering.
  • Drive product discovery and backlog refinement with engineering, prioritizing vulnerability remediation alongside new feature delivery based on risk, severity, and customer service-level agreements.
  • Scope and run external penetration tests and third-party security audits as structured product validation cycles, tracking findings through re-testing and delivery.
  • Align third-party integrations, vendor deliverables, and partner APIs with core platform release cycles to ensure unblocked delivery.
  • Partner with engineering, product, and leadership to evaluate trade-offs between delivery speed, engineering effort, financial costs, and platform security boundaries.
  • Monitor product health indicators including time to remediation, security-posture compliance, vendor service-level agreement performance, and feature-delivery predictability.
  • Act as a product owner in a fast-paced startup, ensuring platform security, data sovereignty, and auditability serve as competitive differentiators.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in secure or regulated environments such as defence, government, fintech, critical infrastructure, or sovereign cloud.
  • Understanding of zero-trust architecture, identity-aware systems, policy enforcement, or workload-isolation concepts.
  • Experience managing technical delivery in a high-growth startup or scale-up environment.

About the company

Valarian Technologies builds the control layer for high-consequence operations and AI-driven systems. It provides workload-level governance across all environments that run critical applications and AI, with governance enforced at the infrastructure layer so organisations maintain control over how systems communicate and access data. The platform serves enterprise and defence customers through Valarian Enterprise and Valarian Defence tracks, focusing on data sovereignty, compartmentalisation, and operational resilience for regulated and government users. Valarian differentiates itself by delivering governance at the infrastructure layer for sovereign workloads and by targeting regulated, government-facing use cases, including dual-use and defence applications. The company’s goal is to enable secure, auditable, and resilient operations for critical AI and applications while preserving data control and compliance across environments.

Messaging systems in today’s workplace have become as ubiquitous as email. In some cases, they’ve downright replaced it. Messengers are everywhere, and we’re all using them. And even though they offer end-to-end encryption, the underlying questions remain - who’s doing the encryption, where is the data sitting, who ultimately owns it, and crucially, are these platforms meeting increasingly strict compliance and regulatory issues?. Financial regulators in the US and UK aren’t joking around regarding the use of private messaging applications. The Securities and Exchange Commission, better known as the SEC, has handed out a total of $1.8 billion in fines across 16 US banking institutions
