Requirements
  • Associate's Degree Applied Science Degree - required
  • Diploma in Radiologic Technology from an accredited program - required
  • 3+ years of experience
  • CRT - Certified Radiologic Technologist New York State Registration in Diagnostic Radiography or possess a limited permit to practice in the State of New York Upon Hire - required
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Registered Upon Hire - required
  • CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation Professional Rescuer certification Upon Hire - required
  • Effective and professional communication with patients and their family members, co-workers, and visitors to Albany Medical Center; with the multidisciplinary team of the patient
  • Ability to read and understand documents such as policies, procedures, and safety manuals
  • Ability to document patient care on appropriate Albany Medical Center forms
  • Ability to problem solve, perform exams, and interpret data efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
  • Honesty, punctuality, and adherence to high ethical standards as defined by Albany Medical Center and the profession
  • Accuracy in data entry and exam documentation; use of good judgment when performing job tasks or interacting with others

Responsibilities
  • Maintain competent imaging skills.
  • Practice in compliance with Albany Medical Center and department policies as well as New York State Department of Health standards.
  • Assist physicians in all aspects of procedures in their assigned area.
  • Provide a safe, positive experience for the patient.
  • Act as a mentor and preceptor to new staff and students.
  • Actively support Albany Medical Center and the imaging department in maintaining proper accreditations.
  • Accurately enter patient data into the computer system(s).
  • Perform quality assurance on images to ensure it is of diagnostic quality as well as containing accurate patient information prior to sending to Picture Archiving and Communication System.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care appropriate to the age and special characteristics of the patients.
  • On-call duties, if applicable.
  • Strive to grow and develop, creating a professional, progressive department with a positive atmosphere.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Practice of sterile technique, when applicable.
