About the job
- Provide subject matter expert-level support for computing device life cycle replacement, hardware setup, operation and maintenance, and system and application upgrades.
- Travel routinely and provide on-site support at commissary locations.
- Work independently.
- Provide customer service and end-user support.
- Use Windows 10/11 operating systems.
- Support networked printers and multifunction devices.
- Support mobile devices.
- Image computers using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager.
- Manage Active Directory.

- Troubleshoot hardware and software.
- Apply Information Technology Infrastructure Library practices.
- Use ticketing systems such as BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, SolarWinds, or Ivanti.
- Manage inventory and inventory control.
- Complete an ITIL course, with ITIL v4 recommended.
- Hold a Department of Defense 8570.1 IAT II or higher baseline certification.
- Hold a computing-environment certification in at least one area, such as Microsoft MD-102: Endpoint Administrator or Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate.
- Hold a minimum Secret clearance.
- Travel 75–80% of the time.
- Lift 40 pounds unassisted.
- Hold a valid U.S. driver’s license and be able to drive at night.
- Travel to commissary locations to perform life cycle replacement, computing hardware setup, operation and maintenance, system and application upgrades, and inventory-system support.
- Decommission laptops, desktops, wireless devices, mobile devices, hardware, software, printers, and other information-technology peripherals according to DeCA processes and security procedures for turn-in to Defense Logistics Agency Disposition Services.
- Tag and destroy internal and external hard drives as part of equipment decommissioning.
- Support DeCA incident, problem, and request-management processes.
- Resolve Service Desk tickets on site for end users.
- Develop and submit all deliverables.
- Previous experience as a desktop hardware technician, field computer technician, or field service technician.
