Finance Manager

As Finance Manager, you will support the Director of Finance & Business Support in managing the hotel’s financial operations, maintaining strong financial controls, and providing timely and accurate financial information to support business decisions.

You will work closely with hotel leaders and operational departments to monitor performance, manage costs, ensure compliance, and contribute to the overall financial success of the hotel.

Your day to day

• Support the day-to-day operations of the Finance & Business Support department.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, management reports, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning.
• Monitor hotel revenue, expenses, departmental costs, and financial performance against budget and forecast.
• Prepare variance analyses and provide meaningful financial insights to hotel leadership.
• Maintain effective internal controls to safeguard hotel assets and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions.
• Ensure compliance with hotel financial policies, accounting standards, statutory requirements, and applicable IHG procedures.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes and ensure reports are completed accurately and on time.
• Coordinate and support internal and external audits and assist in addressing audit findings.
• Work closely with department heads to improve cost management, productivity, and profitability.
• Supervise, coach, and support Finance colleagues to ensure accurate and efficient delivery of financial services.
• Support the Director of Finance & Business Support with financial analysis, special projects, and other business requirements.

What we need from you

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, Financial Management, or a related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification is an advantage.
• At least 5 years of progressive Finance or Accounting experience, preferably within the hotel or hospitality industry.
• Previous supervisory or managerial experience in Finance is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, reconciliations, and internal controls.
• Good understanding of accounting principles, taxation, and statutory requirements.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent attention to detail with a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with operational leaders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications; experience with hotel finance systems is an advantage.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced hotel environment.
