Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in finance functional area and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of related experience preferably in health systems grants management finance
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Responsibilities
  • Oversees processes for grant-related postings and effort in Workday.
  • Prepares PCAs and PAAs in collaboration with grant managers to allocate and reallocate effort to proper Financial Access OAs and budget periods.
  • Manages Workday processes for postdoc and student postings.
  • Coordinates the semi-annual effort certification process in Workday.
  • Serves as liaison between Office of Research and Project Administration (ORPA), Office of Research Accounting and Costing Standards (ORACS), Principal Investigator (PI), research staff, and other University departments to manage effort certification for complex and multi-site research projects.
  • Assists with management of endowment and gift funds in support of research and research-related programs.
  • Coordinates invoicing and financial reporting for New York State (including OASAS, UCS, DoH), Veterans Affairs Intellectual Property Agreements (IPAs), and other entities.
  • Serves as liaison between ORACS and Psychiatry grant administration for Workday processes and closeouts.
  • Analyzes and interprets data, statistics and financial information and identifies significant differences in relationships among sources of information.
  • Data and financial information to include out-of-award, deficit, award line and other information as requested by Assistant Director of Research, Finance Director and/or Research/Grants Leadership.
  • Compiles and prepares reports, graphs and charts of data analyzed.
  • Makes recommendations to Finance and Research/Grants Leadership, based on data.
  • Performs a high level of complex thinking from an operations/continuity point of view to master systems (including workday, Oncore and IORA).
  • Provides training and guidance to Research/grants Administration and Finance on systems.
  • Assists Finance and Research/grants leadership in developing training for Principal Investigators as needed.
  • Assists in the development and/or modification of research/grants finance policies and operational procedures)
  • Provides financial management reports, statements and spreadsheets providing information and analysis based on project needs
  • Develops and coordinates Departmental journal entry transfer process for grant FAOs
  • Coordinates reconciliation and distribution of reports for grant accounts
  • Develops understanding of internal processes, make suggestions for change and writing policies
  • Maintains CLASP certification for Research Administrators
  • Other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications
  • CLASP certification within 12 months Strongly Preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail (Preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, organizational, and communication skills, including written communication (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with federal NIH-grant reporting mechanisms (Preferred)
