Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree and 7-10 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of academic research workflows, federal and non-federal grant application and compliance, and the ability to lead complex research initiatives while building sustainable program infrastructure and maintaining rigorous standards.
Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic, administrative, and operational management for the Department of Surgery research program.
  • Work with Dr. Ronald DeMatteo, department leadership, and collaborators to strengthen partnerships, expand research capacity, and advance the program's scientific mission.
  • Lead program development, communication coordination, staff and resource infrastructure, and operational effectiveness.
  • Manage relationships among Dr. DeMatteo, collaborating investigators, sponsors, other academic centers, research staff, and administrative offices.
  • Develop sustainable research infrastructure and build operational systems and best practices.
  • Provide comprehensive oversight of operational planning for research activities and ensure effective communication across stakeholders.
  • Lead pre- and post-award grant administration, internal and external research communications, and general administrative responsibilities related to departmental research efforts.
  • Manage internal educational research programs.
  • Plan events in collaboration with other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate general correspondence on behalf of Dr. DeMatteo.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree and 5-7 years of experience is preferred.
