Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field is required; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • At least eight years of progressively responsible enterprise Network Security experience is required.
  • Demonstrated experience leading the architecture, design, implementation, lifecycle management, and operational support of complex enterprise Network Security environments is required.
  • Advanced hands-on troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and incident-resolution experience across enterprise Network Security infrastructure is required.
  • Experience providing technical leadership across internal teams, global counterparts, vendors, and contracted service providers is required.
  • Experience creating technology roadmaps, architecture standards, modernization plans, operational runbooks, and technical documentation is required.
Responsibilities
  • Own enterprise Network Security reference architectures, engineering standards, design patterns, implementation patterns, and technology roadmaps aligned with Avangrid and Iberdrola global standards.
  • Lead architecture and technical design for firewalls, secure web gateways, web application firewalls, SD-WAN security, network segmentation, Internet and intranet security, cloud connectivity security, and related Network Security platforms.
  • Provide architecture governance and review project designs, lifecycle plans, technical standards, and high-risk changes for alignment with business requirements, security requirements, supportability, resiliency, and global standards.
  • Serve as the senior technical authority and highest escalation point for complex troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, major incidents, break/fix issues, lifecycle upgrades, technical recovery activities, and critical Network Security changes.
  • Lead Network Security modernization, automation, standardization, resiliency improvement, lifecycle management, technical-debt reduction, and continuous improvement of Internet, intranet, and enterprise security infrastructure.
  • Evaluate emerging Network Security technologies and recommend adoption, replacement, or retirement decisions based on business value, risk, operational impact, supportability, lifecycle position, and strategic alignment.
  • Direct technical execution for complex projects and high-risk changes by translating business, operational, regulatory, and security requirements into secure Network Security architectures and process designs.
  • Provide technical direction, mentoring, and documented knowledge transfer to internal engineers, global counterparts, outsourced service providers, and contracted support resources while retaining internal architecture accountability.
  • Manage technical relationships with technology vendors and outsourced service providers, coordinate design and implementation activities, and ensure technical deliverables are executed according to approved architecture and standards.
  • Partner with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Cloud, Applications, Audit, Compliance, Network Engineering, and global counterparts on architecture decisions, security investigations, risk assessments, audits, and regulatory requirements where Network Security expertise is required.
  • Produce and maintain architecture diagrams, engineering standards, design decisions, implementation patterns, troubleshooting procedures, operational runbooks, recovery documentation, and resolution scripts.
  • Own or govern administration, configuration, optimization, and lifecycle activities for enterprise Network Security platforms, including firewall policy management, high-availability design, firmware upgrades, secure web gateway policies, web application firewall tuning, SD-WAN security, SIEM integration, and automation integration where applicable.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with enterprise firewall platforms such as Fortinet/FortiGate, Palo Alto Networks, and Check Point.
  • Experience with secure web gateway technologies such as Zscaler and web application firewall technologies such as Akamai.
  • Experience with SD-WAN security, network segmentation, high-availability design, firmware lifecycle management, and security policy optimization.
  • Experience with SIEM integration, network automation, troubleshooting procedures, resolution scripts, and operational runbook development.
  • Relevant vendor certifications such as Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto PCNSE, Check Point CCSA/CCSE, Zscaler Certified Professional, or Akamai Security certifications.

Iberdrola picks ICEYE's SAR satellites to protect grid from extreme weather

Iberdrola has selected ICEYE to strengthen its electricity grid against extreme weather events using synthetic aperture radar satellite technology and near real-time data. The solution will help anticipate risks including floods, fires and strong winds, assess damage quickly and minimise impact on electricity supply. The initiative won a New-Tech Challenge within Iberdrola's PERSEO innovation programme, receiving over 40 proposals from ten countries. The 12-month pilot will launch in Spain, with ICEYE's Flood Solutions Suite providing forecasting, rapid impact assessment and flood insights. The deployment also includes wind damage assessment solutions for Iberdrola's assets in the United States and Australia. ICEYE's SAR technology can capture high-resolution imagery through smoke and storm clouds, enabling continuous monitoring in all weather conditions day or night.

Wallbox restructures $191.5M debt with Spanish banks as Catalan government takes stake

Wallbox, the Barcelona-based electric vehicle charging systems company, has closed a debt restructuring agreement worth €169.5 million with creditors representing over 83% of its financial debt. The deal includes a capital increase that will bring the Generalitat of Catalonia in as a shareholder. The agreement, pending judicial approval and scheduled for signing on 8 April, restructures existing debt into a €57.6 million framework loan and a €69.1 million bullet instrument, both maturing in December 2030. A working capital agreement of approximately €42.8 million was also reached. The restructuring includes a €10.65 million capital increase, with strategic shareholders contributing €5.65 million and the Generalitat adding €5 million. Participating banks will provide €12.5 million in new financing. CEO Enric Asunción said the agreement strengthens Wallbox's financial position.
