Requirements
  • 8–12+ years of progressive experience in demand planning, merchandise planning, or supply chain, with at least 3–4 years in a leadership or managerial role
  • Hands-on experience with demand planning tools (e.g., o9, Blue Yonder, Anaplan, Relex, or similar); ability to configure, interpret, and evolve tool outputs
  • Experience leading cross-functional planning processes including Open-to-Buy, merchandise financial planning, and purchase order management
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills — comfortable working with large datasets, statistical forecasts, and financial plans simultaneously
  • Exceptional cross-functional communication and influencing skills; able to distill complex forecast dynamics into clear business narratives for senior stakeholders
  • Solutions-oriented mindset — able to identify risk early, pressure-test assumptions, and drive to aligned decisions even in ambiguous situations
  • High business acumen with an understanding of how demand planning connects to inventory investment, margin, and sell-through
  • Organized and process-driven, with the ability to manage multiple planning cycles, stakeholder groups, and priorities concurrently
  • People leader with a genuine passion for developing talent and building team capability
Responsibilities
  • Own the weekly demand forecast review process across all categories, leveraging the demand planning tool and aligned alert configurations to identify style/SKU-level risks and opportunities
  • Drive forecast accuracy improvement by partnering closely with Data Science to incorporate business intelligence — including promotional events, inventory transfers, new product launches, and cannibalization risk — into the statistical model
  • Establish and maintain a cadence of forecast review that is disciplined, scalable, and actionable for downstream planning teams
  • Define and evolve the processes, configurations, and governance standards within the demand planning tool to ensure alignment across the planning organization
  • Serve as the primary demand planning partner to Merchandising, ensuring the core forecast reflects awareness of new launches, assortment changes, and category-level dynamics that could shift baseline demand
  • Partner with Channel Planning leads across all categories to ensure the core forecast integrates cleanly with channel-level plans for sales and inventory, and that risks and opportunities are surfaced proactively
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with Data Science, Merchandise Financial Planning, and Finance to ensure the forecast is both statistically sound and commercially grounded
  • Lead and facilitate alignment in cross-functional forums — bringing a clear point of view on trend, inventory health, and forecast deviation from plan
  • Lead the core product demand forecast within the Open-to-Buy (OTB) process — communicating trend versus pre-season plan, prior OTB, and inventory risk or opportunity with clarity and confidence
  • Proactively identify situations where inventory needs exceed available OTB funding; develop aligned, solutions-oriented recommendations in partnership with Channel Planning
  • Ensure final PO sign-off meetings are well-prepared, with all relevant stakeholders informed and risks clearly articulated prior to commitment
  • Partner with Merchandise Financial Planning to ensure the demand forecast is reflected accurately in financial plans and that deviations are explained and resolved in a timely manner
  • Collaborate closely with Data Analytics to ensure the forecast reflects the full context of business nuances — including promotional performance, channel mix shifts, customer behavior trends, and external market signals — translating analytical insights into meaningful forecast inputs that drive accuracy
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of demand planners across core categories
  • Define clear roles, responsibilities, and RACI ownership across the planning team — including accountability for core products, impact of new launch products, and channel-level plans
  • Coach planners on both technical skills (tool proficiency, statistical thinking, OTB management) and soft skills (cross-functional communication, stakeholder influence, business acumen)
  • Foster a culture of proactive risk identification, continuous improvement, and accountability
  • Partner with Data Science and IT/Systems teams to continuously improve the demand planning tool — including model inputs, alert logic, and reporting capabilities
  • Define KPIs for forecast accuracy, bias, and planning effectiveness; establish regular reporting cadences to track performance and drive improvement
  • Lead the evolution of demand planning processes as the business scales across categories and channels
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience at a high-growth consumer brand, apparel, or retail company strongly preferred

Skims names Kim Seymour chief people officer

Skims names Kim Seymour chief people officer. Kim Kardashian's shapewear brand Skims has appointed Kim Seymour its new chief people officer as the company prepares to scale talent and people operations across its portfolio. Seymour, who officially took up her new position on January 6, most recently founded and ran HR advisory Leadership Amplified, where she worked with executives on talent challenges. Prior to this, Seymour served as chief human resources officer at Etsy, and held executive HR roles at American Express and Home Depot Supply. As such, she brings almost three-decades of HR experience to Skims, where she will report to CEO and co-founder, Jens Grede. Grede called Seymour a "cultural powerhouse", adding: "She has steered companies through various stages of growth, and I know she will inspire and push our teams to achieve their full potential." In her own statement, Seymour said a key part of Skims' current success can be attributed to the "strong talent" that has been brought in since the company's inception. She continued: "This new era that Skims is about to enter - with more reach, more product innovation, more partnerships and collaborations - requires more focus on the people who are delivering." The movie's fashion by costume designer Molly Rogers is already causing a stir - most notably the red Valentino Rockstud pumps from 2022 worn by Miranda while walking through Runway's corporate office. Stay tuned for more details as spring nears! In the meantime, you can check out the full teaser for yourself on YouTube. Kim Kardashian's Skims reaches A $5 billion valuation. Kim Kardashian's shapewear brand Skims has reached another major win. The label has just earned $225 million in new financing through Goldman Sachs Alternatives, according to Fortune. This brings Skims' total valuation to $5 billion, owed to consistent growth since it was founded by Kardashian and CEO Jens Grede in 2019. Previously, Skims was valued at 3.2 billion in 2022 and $4 billion in 2023, marking an impressive financial achievement. However, this isn't the only cause for celebration at the label. Sounds like winter's off to a sporty - and bountiful - start! Lady Gaga embraces Mayhem glamour for Rolling Stone. Rolling Stone's found its next covergirl in Lady Gaga! The musician fronts the title's new December issue, outfitted in dark feathers and diamonds in tandem with her ongoing Mayhem album cycle. While speaking in her feature interview alongside her gothically glam editorial, Gaga opens up about her dedication to the art of music, finding healing through songs like "Disease," and the success of Mayhem - including its recent Grammy nods. She also takes a step into the past, reflecting on her 2013 record Artpop's panned reception by the music industry - and how it made her feel at the time. "I put so much into Artpop," said Gaga. "It really was my EDM opus. And also I was in a very chaotic place. It feels hard sometimes to stand firmly in the ground when it's sinking, you know? People don't like it if I say, 'I won't dress the way you want me to dress. I won't have the hair you want me to have, and I'm going to not make pop music the way that you want me to make it. 'Cause you want everything to sound like Bad Romance, and I'm never doing that again." Givenchy's Spring 2026 campaign shines with Rooney Mara and Paul Simonon. Givenchy is already blossoming for spring, courtesy of its latest campaign. Under the creative direction of Sarah Burton, the French label's tapped actress Rooney Mara as the face of its new Spring 2026 campaign. A longtime muse to both Givenchy and Burton, Mara poses in pieces from the designer's bejeweled collection - including sharp suiting, strappy heels and enchanting crystal-coated earrings. Meanwhile, punk rock musician Paul Simonon also makes an appearance in the shoot by Collier Schorr, outfitted in the brand's elegant men's suiting - accompanied by two Doberman pups in a nod to the house's canine icon. Chic! Marc Jacobs stomps into fall with A new Dr. Martens collaboration! Marc Jacobs is kicking off fall on a punky note with Dr. Martens!
