Forbes Vetted is seeking an experienced Home & Kitchen editor to join our growing commerce editorial team.

This role will be responsible for assigning and editing Forbes Vetted Home & Kitchen content, which includes product guides, roundups, retailer news, tested product reviews, product/brand comparison posts, how-tos and product odes. The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert with at least 5 years of direct prior experience writing and editing about products for the home. You will work closely with our updates and strategy editors to optimize evergreen content and collaborate with the deals and special projects teams. This role reports to the Senior Home & Kitchen Editor.

This is a remote role with an option to commute to the Jersey City Forbes office if desired.

Responsibilities:

• Assigning, writing and editing articles within the Home & Kitchen vertical, with topics including furniture, décor, large and small appliances, lawn and garden, pets, cleaning products, home improvement, lawn care and more
• Adhering to the daily and weekly content schedule outlined by your section lead, publishing articles in a reliable, timely manner
• Attending and participating in virtual team meetings and contributing to Forbes Vetted’s positive, friendly culture
• Participating in sales event coverage, including potential shifts over some holiday weekends that may include Memorial Day, Labor Day, Amazon Prime Day and Black Friday/Cyber Monday
• Contribute writing and product reviews as editing schedule allows
• Assisting with tracking content performance against team and individual goals
• Contributing to Forbes Vetted’s social media platforms, which could include pitching concepts, writing video scripts and filming

The ideal candidate: 

• Is an expert in the home and kitchen space with 5+ years of experience writing and editing topics in this area for a commerce or editorial publication (required)
• Has a strong understanding of SEO as well as affiliate/commerce content strategy (required)
• Has impeccable writing, editing and reporting skills (required)
• Has direct prior experience in the commerce space producing product reviews, tested or otherwise
• Is exceptionally reliable and punctual, and able to meet our daily and weekly publishing quota
• Has a network of experienced home writers, as well as PR contacts 
• Is user-focused and understands editorial independence, but can deftly balance this with the needs of the business 
• Is a collaborative team player who is willing to occasionally write and/or edit outside of the home product category to contribute to the success of other categories
• Is eager to innovate and experiment editorially to help grow the Forbes Vetted audience 

The annual base salary range for this role is $80,000 - $90,000.
