Requirements
  • An undergraduate degree, preferably in engineering or life sciences.
  • Knowledge of the diagnostic and surgical ophthalmology industry, including related capital equipment, is considered an asset.
  • At least three to five years of experience in ophthalmology clinical and operating room settings, the diagnostic ophthalmology industry, or comparable experience is considered an asset.
  • Fluency in English is required; French is preferred.
  • Proven experience implementing and configuring networking equipment such as routers, switches, and access points.
  • Understanding of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, VLAN, and DNS.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with customers in challenging situations.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of the diagnostic ophthalmic industry to conduct tailored training for doctors and staff in operation and clinical applications.
  • Ability to follow standard practices and procedures when analyzing data or situations from which answers can readily be obtained.
  • Ability to travel overnight and work occasional weekends.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Ability to work in operating room environments and provide support during surgical procedures in accordance with hospital protocols and safety requirements.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural business environment.
  • Ability to lift or move products weighing up to 80 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical and technical support to customers within an assigned territory as a resource for the effective use of ZEISS products and solutions.
  • Deliver on-site clinical applications training, independently coordinating customer appointments, travel, training schedules, and follow-up support.
  • Work with Account Managers, Field Service Engineers, and internal teams to address customer needs, resolve clinical and technical issues, support installations, and provide customer care.
  • Support the installation, configuration, and deployment of ZEISS equipment, digital products, and connectivity solutions, including data transfer, system integration, site assessments, and troubleshooting.
  • Provide clinical and technical support to surgeons in the operating room during surgical procedures.
  • Serve as a liaison between customers and ZEISS, coordinating internal resources and resolving clinical, technical, connectivity, and administrative inquiries.
  • Maintain knowledge of ZEISS products and technologies, provide ongoing customer education and support, and identify and communicate potential sales opportunities to the Account Management team.
  • Adapt to territory realignment.
  • Maintain accurate and timely administrative documentation, including customer relationship management records, training records, CPOs, and expense reports, while adhering to ZEISS procedures, good manufacturing practices, ISO 9001, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Set up and provide instruction on ZEISS equipment at conventions and seminars, and complete other management-assigned projects.

ZEISS unveils retinal imaging and surgical innovations at EURETINA 2026

ZEISS Medical Technology has announced expansions to its ZEISS Retina Workflow at the EURETINA 2026 congress in Vienna. The company introduced the ZEISS ALTA DUO 300, combining OCT and fundus imaging in a single device for streamlined retinal diagnostics. ZEISS also unveiled the HMDmd CR3, a head-mounted 3D display that connects with the ZEISS ARTEVO 850 surgical microscope. ZEISS Medical Technology has expanded its retinal imaging portfolio with the launch of ZEISS ALTA DUO 300, a fully automated, compact multimodal imaging solution. The device combines optical coherence tomography (OCT) and fundus photography in a single unit, designed to provide efficient retinal assessment for eye care practices. The ALTA DUO 300 features four key diagnostic technologies: automated structural OCT with reference database and reporting, true colour fundus camera, AI-enhanced OCT-Angiography, and full chamber depth anterior OCT scanning. ZEISS launches DORC EVA NEXUS cataract system at ESCRS in London

ZEISS Medical Technology has launched a cataract-only configuration of its DORC EVA NEXUS ophthalmic surgical system. The system features a cataract grade selection with up to four programmable presets, allowing surgeons to optimise phaco, aspiration, and irrigation settings for each surgical step. The solution includes VacuFlow VTi pump, SMART IOP, and EVA EQUIPHACO technologies, designed to provide streamlined performance, stability, and control during procedures. ZEISS Ventures led a €2.2 million investment round in SeeTrue Technologies, a Finnish deep-tech company developing miniaturised eye-tracking technology. The funding will accelerate commercialisation of SeeTrue's ultra-low-power eye-sensing architecture for next-generation interfaces in smart optical systems and eyewear. SeeTrue's proprietary technology combines miniaturised sensing hardware with optimised embedded processing, enabling scalable eye-sensing capabilities with low power consumption and small hardware footprint. The technology supports gaze-based interaction and attention-aware computing across healthcare, industrial, and smart eyewear applications. The investment round includes participation from Superhero Capital and North Karelia Growth Fund, managed by Redstone Nordics. Founded in 2018 and based in Joensuu, Finland, SeeTrue develops ultra-miniature eye-tracking technology for medical optical systems, vision care, and smart wearables.
