Responsibilities
  • Develop new and or improved processes through the application of theoretical and practical engineering
  • Design and build out factory level, and line/machine level controls standards and specification for application by internal equipment development team and external partners
  • Acts as the corporate SME for plant resources on control systems programing by architecting, writing and debug PLC ladder logic/IPC SW with an emphasis on generating code that is organized, structured, documented, maintainable and reusable. PLC code will interact with subsystems such as conveyors, robots, Manufacturing Execution System MES, machine vision, part tracking systems, and 3rd party equipment
  • Implement (ANSI/ RIA15.06/OSHA compliant) control reliable safety systems for safeguarding robots, gantries, conveyors, and other high volume manufacturing equipment
  • Generate aesthetically simple HMI screens for complex machinery while providing sufficient feedback for troubleshooting
  • Work with IT to connect manufacturing assets to enterprise network using established standards / guidelines
  • Keeps abreast of all meaningful technical trends and developments and incorporates them in appropriate assignments
  • Create request for Quotation/Proposal (RFQ/RFPs), Organize cross-functional reviews of the machine requirements, design, qualification and capability and engage machine suppliers for automated equipment design reviews and proposals
  • Travel to the machine suppliers for equipment qualification, acceptance testing and support during build events
Desired Qualifications
  • Expert-level experience in design, program, integration, and validation of controls in high volume automated process equipment for discrete manufacturing using Rockwell Logix and GE RXi platforms.
  • Experience in designing controls hardware and OT infrastructures including a thorough understanding of Industrial Communication Protocols
  • Experience in creating technical specifications for automated manufacturing equipment, machine qualification requirements, design of experiments and failure analysis
  • Expertise in the design of machine safety circuits and programming of safety PLCs
  • Expertise with software and SCADA platforms to support Industry 4.0 manufacturing projects: including Historians and OPC Servers.
  • Experience with machine integration with common IoT platforms
  • Experience with SQL and Python/Java would be a plus.
  • Able to communicate effectively in a worldwide environment.
  • Previous experience with SAP or equivalent ERP.
  • Experience with Fanuc robotics a plus.

Generac targets $700M data center backlog and $6.6B sales by 2028

Generac has reorganised into two segments—Residential ($2.5 billion) and Commercial & Industrial ($1.7 billion)—and unveiled a 2028 financial framework whilst reaffirming 2026 guidance. The company is targeting mid-teens compound annual growth through 2028, with net sales of $6.2 billion to $6.6 billion and adjusted EBITDA of $1.25 billion to $1.45 billion. The firm is pushing aggressively into data centres, with a $700 million backlog of large megawatt generators and a planned Sussex capacity expansion by late 2026. Generac expects to close its Enercon acquisition in the second quarter to address packaging and switchgear bottlenecks. Management cited grid constraints, rising electricity costs and AI-driven data centre growth as key demand drivers, projecting over $1.5 billion in free cash flow over the next three years.

Generac misses Q4 revenue estimates by 5.9% despite data centre momentum

Generac reported disappointing Q4 results with revenues of $1.09 billion, down 11.6% year-on-year and missing analysts' expectations by 5.9%. The company also missed adjusted operating income estimates. CEO Aaron Jagdfeld noted softer outage conditions and lower generator shipments, but highlighted accelerating momentum in the data centre market with expected significant volumes from hyperscale customers. Despite the weak results, Generac's stock has risen 12.7% since reporting and currently trades at $205.46. Amongst 16 renewable energy stocks tracked, the sector showed mixed Q4 performance. Revenues collectively beat consensus estimates by 8.5%, though next quarter's guidance was in line. Sector share prices have declined 5% on average since latest earnings. Sunrun posted the strongest results with revenues up 124% year-on-year.

Generac launches SD1250 & SD1500 diesel generators with 46-litre Perkins engine for mission-critical power

Generac has launched its SD1250 and SD1500 diesel generators, featuring a Perkins 5012 46-litre engine designed for mission-critical applications. The generators target data centres, healthcare facilities, water utilities and heavy industrial segments, offering improved fuel efficiency, reduced emissions and a smaller footprint. Key features include a V-12 engine, common rail fuel system, Marathon MagnaMax alternators and Deep Sea G8601 controller with onboard paralleling. The units support high ambient operation up to 50°C and offer voltage options up to 4,160V.
