ABOUT THE ROLE
As a senior member of a professional support team, you will use your low intensity CBT (PWP) qualification to offer brief, time-limited interventions to students experiencing mental health and emotional issues. You will follow the team’s crisis and risk assessment protocols and make internal and external referrals as appropriate. You will also deliver group workshops and therapeutic group sessions for students, and staff training on student mental health topics. You will work as part of our multi-disciplinary Mental Health and Wellbeing Team, helping it make a positive impact on student retention and the student experience.
The successful candidate will have significant post-qualification experience of delivering low intensity CBT interventions to clients on a one-to-one and group basis. You will also have experience of working within a brief assessment and intervention service model, and knowledge of issues common among students – such as anxiety, social anxiety, stress, low mood, procrastination and exam panic. We are keen to hear from practitioners with experience of working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and/or underrepresented social groups.
We particularly encourage applications from practitioners who identify as being from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities, as these communities are currently under-represented in our team, although all appointments will be made on merit.
This is a predominantly face-to-face, campus-based role. Interventions are delivered face to face, by telephone and online via Teams video.
To keep our services accessible to students, the post holder will work one late shift per week (12pm–8pm).
We currently have a vacancy for:
