Requirements
  • Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited educational institution prior to the start date.
  • Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure from the respective Board of Pharmacy in the states within the district within 90 days of hire per district guidelines.
  • Must be a certified immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.
Responsibilities
  • Provide pharmacy consulting services to customers regarding medication usage, drug interactions, and preventive healthcare services such as immunizations.
  • Ensure proper compounding, dispensing, review, and verification of prescribed medications within regulatory guidelines and company policies and procedures.
  • Support efficient pharmacy workflow and assist the pharmacy manager in optimizing pharmacy financials, inventory management, and customer experience.
  • Engage customers and patients, offer assistance with products and services, resolve customer issues, and answer questions.
  • Model and share customer service best practices with team members to deliver a positive customer experience.
  • Develop relationships with valuable customers by anticipating needs and proactively offering healthcare services, including patient consultation, medication management, drug therapy reviews, immunizations, flu shots, and diabetes awareness.
  • Counsel patients regarding medication usage, side effects, interactions, contraindications, privacy, generic and lower-cost medicines, and over-the-counter products, referring them to medical providers as needed.
  • Perform pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, medication management, and accurate dispensing of prescribed medications.
  • Ensure the pharmacy operates according to regulations, company policies, and standards.
  • Assist the pharmacy manager with procedures that promote efficient workflow, including assigning roles, coordinating activities, and soliciting employee suggestions.
  • Perform pharmacy opening, closing, and shift-change duties.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Faith Dispensing policy and state and federal controlled-substance laws when filling prescriptions.
  • Maintain current knowledge of pharmacy information systems, including Intercom Plus, registers, automation, and StoreNET, and propose and implement system enhancements.
  • Process insurance claims accurately, resolve customer issues, prevent payment rejections, follow up with insurance companies and medical providers, and participate in third-party audits.
  • Follow up with medical providers' offices to clarify prescriptions, dosages, refills, interactions, and allergies; suggest alternative medications and answer provider questions.
  • Perform retail, clinical, and wellness services such as immunizations, flu shots, diabetes awareness, and other preventive healthcare services.
  • Assist the pharmacy manager with analyzing performance data, pharmacy financials, customer service, asset protection, and inventory management; review key performance indicators with pharmacy and store leadership.
  • Develop relationships with local physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers and participate in community outreach activities.
  • Partner with Central Pharmacy Operations on customer registration, third-party reviews, and resolving customer issues at Well Experience locations.
  • Conduct virtual product reviews in virtual environments according to company procedures and guidelines.
  • Assist the pharmacy manager with staff hiring and training, coach staff, provide constructive feedback, monitor customer service, and foster employee development.
  • Promote teamwork, motivate team members, establish expectations, monitor progress, recognize progress, and foster a shared vision.
  • Maintain current pharmacy and healthcare knowledge through journals, company publications, and communications.
  • Obtain required certifications, education credits, and training, including People Plus Learning modules.
  • Pursue professional development by monitoring performance, soliciting constructive feedback, and using pharmacy and store managers as mentors and coaches.
  • Communicate relevant corporate health and wellness services and strategy information to pharmacy staff.
