  • Applicants must work in varying temperatures, humidity, and other environmental conditions when performing certain duties.
  • Applicants must remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.
  • The role is full-time, but weekly hours are not guaranteed to total 40 and may fluctuate based on business needs.
Responsibilities
  • Deliver guest experience commitments and create an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience.
  • Ensure every team member understands, is trained, and consistently delivers Target’s guest experience commitments and operational standards.
  • Observe team members, provide feedback, hold them accountable, and recognize strong guest experience performance.
  • Review guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities, take corrective action, align the team on execution, celebrate wins, and improve results.
  • Understand sales goals and plans and execute daily and weekly workload to achieve department and store sales goals and guest engagement.
  • Lead and share expertise in operations, freshness, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Establish clear goals and expectations with guidance from the direct leader and hold team members accountable.
  • Use workload planning tools to complete scheduled workload and ensure areas are guest-ready at store opening.
  • Assign daily tasks to team members based on planned workload and guest traffic patterns, aligned with business priorities.
  • Assess General Merchandise backroom and sales floor areas, review reporting, identify gaps, and develop plans to resolve issues.
  • Ensure products are available for purchase.
  • Assist the direct leader with leading and following up on organizational and operational changes.
  • Build a General Merchandise team from selection through onboarding and learning, and develop team members through ongoing training, direction, and feedback.
  • Demonstrate inclusivity by valuing diverse voices and approaches and creating equitable experiences.
  • Lead the team in ethical conduct, safety, and compliance and hold others accountable to these standards.
  • Lead and demonstrate a safety culture by modeling safe behaviors, identifying and correcting hazards, assisting with incident response, and reporting and investigating injuries accurately and promptly.
  • Execute physical security processes and support the store’s security culture.
  • Support merchandise protection strategies, including ordering, storage, and application, as directed by best practices.
  • Follow safe and secure training and processes when serving as a key carrier.
  • Occasionally assume store-level Leader on Duty responsibilities during assigned shifts.
  • Address store and offsite emergency and compliance needs.
  • Support guest services, including backup cashier, order pickup, and Drive Up, while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local adult beverage laws.
  • Perform other duties based on business needs.

  • Previous retail experience is preferred but not required.
