  • Ability to stand, bend, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, reach, handle, finger, feel, and walk for 8 to 10 hours per day.
  • Ability to work 8- to 10-hour shifts and overtime as required.
  • Use of all limbs and dexterous, steady use of hands and arms for long periods.
  • Simultaneous mental and muscular coordination and visual and audio awareness of the surrounding area.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee all inbound and outbound activities at the Sumter location and the vendor-managed inventory operation at the customer location.
  • Oversee day-to-day safety, quality, productivity, scheduling, process improvement, and team training and mentoring.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train new staff.
  • Oversee the department’s daily workflow.
  • Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Handle employee discipline and termination in accordance with company policy.
  • Supervise staff and coordinate shipping department operations.
  • Review shipping requirements and schedule required overtime to fulfill them.
  • Coordinate and communicate with other supervisors and operations staff.
  • Plan and assign work, train employees, and make discipline, performance, and evaluation decisions.
  • Maintain product quality standards.
  • Exercise direct supervision over shipping, receiving, vendor-managed inventory, and logistics employees for the assigned shift.
  • Plan, prioritize, supervise, and review the work of employees responsible for daily shipments.
  • Participate in staff selection, provide or coordinate staff training, correct employee deficiencies, and implement discipline procedures.
  • Prepare reports on production and operational activities.
  • Generate cycle counts.
  • Generate pick sheets twice daily.
  • Order supplies and maintain adequate inventory.
  • Fix counting discrepancies and adjust inventory accordingly.
  • Scrap out extra material.
  • Hold employees accountable for performance and attendance.
  • Abide by and enforce company policies.
  • Promote a safe and clean working environment.
  • Communicate effectively with peers and employees in written and verbal form.
  • Work with other departments to ensure work quality and process improvements.
  • Strategically plan work processes, conserve material and labor costs, and guide decisions using business acumen.
  • Work weekends and overtime as needed.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the manager.
