- At least 1 year of experience in a physician’s practice as a receptionist and medical assistant is preferred.
- Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute is required.
- Computer literacy is required.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Completion of a post-secondary medical assisting education program accredited by NJAC 13:35-6.4 and an approved certifying body is required.
- Current certification from a recognized certifying board approved by the New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners is required.
- Current Basic Life Support/CPR certification through the American Heart Association is required.
- Coordinate receptionist and clerical responsibilities for the office.
- Assign, coordinate, and solve problems to ensure smooth office operation.
- Maintain inter-department communication with the Office Manager for problem resolution.
- Ensure adherence to hospital and departmental policies regarding safety, drug storage, and front desk operation.
- Excellent telephone and communication skills are preferred.
