Requirements
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in a marketing role with increasing responsibility, including 2 or more years in a leadership role.
  • A bachelor's degree in Marketing or Communications, or a related degree program, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills with sound professional judgment.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • The ability to think creatively and innovatively.
  • Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Adeptness in media relations.
  • Budget management skills and proficiency.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, direct, and develop materials for varied campaigns, projects, and programs, including proposals, interviews and presentations, promotional programs, networking events, and training materials.
  • A valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record in accordance with Fortis policy.
  • Ability to work in a professional office environment, use standard office equipment, communicate with internal and external contacts, and occasionally push, pull, or lift up to 25 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Manage strategic marketing initiatives and project-winning efforts.
  • Develop and execute a marketing program consisting of long-range goals and short-term objectives that communicate the brand, win work, and support the company's vision.
  • Manage the development of proposals, website copy, digital assets, and campaigns that attract and convert new customers and engage and retain current customers.
  • Collaborate and partner with internal and external teams to deliver a comprehensive marketing program that meets objectives and differentiates Fortis in the market.
  • Manage and produce compelling content for key company deliverables such as requests for quotations and requests for proposals.
  • Facilitate and advance marketing communications and graphic design using current trends, technologies, and methodologies in graphic design, web design, social media, communication, and campaign analytics.
  • Work with vendors, including marketing firms and agencies, promotional groups, graphic designers, printers, and industry associations, to ensure timely completion of marketing projects.
  • Communicate marketing initiatives, programs, and promotions to leadership and market-sector teams regularly.
  • Use analytical skills to identify and forecast trends and challenges.
  • Manage and execute key client and market-sector events.
  • Support market-sector and lead-generation efforts.
  • Create and manage marketing campaigns.
  • Evaluate competitors and develop lessons learned and best practices in response.
  • Identify and communicate key competitive advantages.
  • Further develop the department's best practices, procedures, and performance standards in support of the evolving company vision and goals.
  • Manage department budgets and costs in support of goals, objectives, and needs.
  • Manage at least one team member, including hiring, development, performance management, and engagement.
  • Assist with other duties relevant to achieving the position's and team's objectives.
  • Coordinate and secure high-quality project photography.

  • A demonstrated history of working with external partners, including media, business-to-business partners, and agencies, in support of strategic marketing efforts.
  • Database utilization and development experience with Cosential, Deltek, or similar systems.

Fortis Construction names new president

Fortis Construction names new president. Andrea Weisheimer, formerly of DPR Construction and Webcor Builders, will focus on building the Oregon firm's national presence. Fortis Construction, an international contractor based in Portland, Oregon, has named Andrea Weisheimer as president, according to a Jan. 28 announcement. Weisheimer will focus on national growth in the new role, supporting expansion via the firm's Geographic Markets division and advancing client relationships. Prior to her arrival at Fortis, Weisheimer spent over two decades in the construction industry. Her resume includes work for Redwood City, California-based DPR Construction, San Francisco-based Webcor Builders and Seattle-based Lease Crutcher Lewis. Most recently, Weisheimer served as DPR's national EHS integrations and operations leader, per her LinkedIn. "Over the past five plus years [Fortis has] been growing, but more importantly growing with intention. As we look to expand into new regions and deepen our partnerships across the country, we have an opportunity to amplify the impact our teams are already making," Weisheimer told Construction Dive via email. With $2.2 billion in 2024 revenue, Fortis ranked 57th on Engineering News-Record's Top 400 Contractors list in 2025, a measure of the largest contractors in the U.S. by self-reported revenue. In addition to its Portland location, the firm opened an office in Draper, Utah, in 2024, and maintains an additional presence in Singapore.
