Responsibilities
Coordinate with the Estimating Department as projects are awarded and assign projects to Project Managers as workload dictates.
Review contracts and revise or approve them as necessary before signing by the Principal.
Review and approve project buyouts before issuing purchase orders and subcontracts.
Provide leadership and direction necessary to sustain growth within established company policies and procedures.
Maintain accurate knowledge of all current and potential projects, including activities or situations that could affect successful project outcomes.
Make chain-of-command decisions required to achieve successful company results.
Act as liaison between the client, engineer, governing authority, and Hughes Brothers Construction when necessary.
Identify problematic situations or practices quickly and resolve them promptly to achieve desired results.
Organize, direct, and train subordinate project management team members.
Develop and maintain positive business relationships with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers or vendors.
Oversee multiple site development and heavy civil construction projects from contract award through final completion.
Serve as the intermediary for communication among the client, engineer, applicable governing authorities, and company personnel.
Desired Qualifications
A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is preferred.
At least 5 years of industry experience at the Project Manager level or above.
Previous experience with site development and heavy civil construction, including earthwork, utility installation, and roadway infrastructure.
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, HCSS, AGTEK, Bluebeam, and Foundation.

The Sr. Project Manager is responsible for oversight of multiple site development and heavy civil construction projects, along with mentoring of project management department employees.
