Requirements
  • Previous retail experience is preferred but not required.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to lead others and hold them accountable.
  • Ability to communicate using multiple-frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
  • Ability to access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues.
  • Ability to interpret instructions, reports, and information.
  • Ability to accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
  • Ability to climb up and down ladders.
  • Ability to scan, handle, and safely move merchandise, including frequently lifting or moving up to 44 pounds without assistance.
  • Flexible availability for nights, weekends, and holidays, with reliable and prompt attendance.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, humidity, and other environmental conditions while performing duties such as Drive-Up and carryout.
  • Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift, which may vary in length.
Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate inclusivity by valuing diverse voices and approaches, being authentic and respectful, and creating equitable experiences.
  • Model and train service expectations to deliver a guest-first service culture.
  • Understand the role in sales growth and how each area contributes to total store profitability.
  • Lead execution of onboarding and learning best practices, and help close skill gaps through development, coaching, and team interactions.
  • Problem-solve and prioritize across business areas to execute store strategies set by the Store Director or Executive Team Leader, deliver business results and sales goals, and prioritize the guest experience.
  • Assist leaders through communication and collaboration to influence sales performance and workload deliverables, using daily check-ins, check-outs, and meetings as connection points.
  • Support store operations by establishing consistent routines and ensuring departments are zoned, in stock, signed, and labeled appropriately for the next day.
  • Use business planning tools to share priorities and business updates with store leadership.
  • Take action to achieve performance goals.
  • Evaluate candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team.
  • Support team onboarding and learning, and help close skill gaps through development, coaching, and team member interactions.
  • Support leaders in establishing clear goals and expectations, hold team members accountable, and share performance feedback with leaders as needed.
  • As a key carrier, follow safe and secure training and processes.
  • Address store emergency and compliance needs.
  • Model ethical conduct, safety, and compliance, and hold the team accountable to the same standards.
  • Lead safety practices by modeling and recognizing safe behaviors, identifying and correcting hazards, holding the team accountable to safety expectations, assisting with incident response, and reporting and investigating injuries accurately and promptly.
  • Model a welcoming experience by greeting guests while completing daily tasks.
  • Demonstrate guest engagement when assistance is needed, engage guests in a welcoming way, and help solve their needs.
  • Thank guests and let them know Target is happy they chose to shop there.
  • Model physical security processes to enhance the in-store security culture.
  • Support merchandise protection strategies across the store, including ordering, storage, and application in accordance with best practices.
  • Support guest services such as order pickup, Drive-Up orders and returns, maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local adult beverage laws.
  • Perform other duties based on business needs.
