Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or another related engineering discipline.
  • Hands-on firmware update, electrical repair, or electrical assembly experience.
  • Understanding of electronics and their relationship to software and firmware.
  • Ability to read and create wiring diagrams and schematics using AutoCAD.
  • Ability to work with vendors to find solutions and suitable products.
  • Ability to communicate with team members to coordinate projects.
  • Ability to develop specifications and test requirements for product design.
  • Ability to analyze design reliability, serviceability, and manufacturability.
  • Ability to create bills of materials and oversee the creation of drawings to support new designs.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites for troubleshooting when needed.
  • Ability to perform engineering duties at customer sites or off site when required.
  • Ability to support Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Customer Service departments.
  • Ability to recommend improvements to engineering policies and establish new procedures as needed.
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement in electrical best practices by evaluating industry tools and techniques and collaborating with the Electrical and Software Engineering teams.
  • Ability to maintain awareness of how assigned tasks affect schedule, scope, budget, and quality throughout development from concept to end of life.
  • Ability to work near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places when required.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Update firmware on coaches and buses and perform electrical repairs or assembly.
  • Provide technical guidance for production troubleshooting.
  • Work on the improvement and development of electric vehicles.
  • Develop specifications and test requirements for product design.
