Requirements
  • Approximately ten (10) years of field experience on water/wastewater construction projects
  • Valid California Class C driver's license
  • Able to obtain Cal-OSHA/OSHA 30-hour training certification prior to work
Responsibilities
  • Overseeing the inspection of all aspects of construction through project completion
  • Interpreting plans, specifications, and codes
  • Verifying contract work is performed in accordance with all applicable governing codes and regulations
  • Scheduling, preparing agendas, meeting minutes, and conducting pre-bid meetings, pre-construction meetings, and weekly coordination meetings
  • Supervising the work of project construction inspector(s) and material testing technician(s)
  • Reviewing construction schedules, cost estimates, and budgets
  • Managing construction documents utilizing various construction management software
  • Monitoring construction sites for safety violations and ensuring compliance with safety rules and procedures
  • Reviewing or preparing interim progress reports and contractor payments
  • Conducting quality surveillance of specific quality-related activities
  • Overseeing or providing construction safety and security field services
  • Coordinating preparation of inspection survey reports, cost estimates, and maintenance records
  • Arranging, coordinating, and overseeing technical inspections
  • Assisting in the collecting, interpreting, analyzing, and presenting geotechnical and survey monitoring data
  • Coordinating laboratory activities and comparing verification test results
  • Allocating inspection resources and supervising inspectors
