About the job
- Current Illinois Registered Nurse licensure is required.
- An associate’s degree in nursing is required.
- At least 10 years of direct-care nursing experience is required.
- Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire and must be maintained throughout employment.
- Basic computer knowledge is preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of medical equipment and instruments is strongly preferred.
- Ensure optimal patient care by utilizing the nursing process.
- Supervise documentation to ensure an accurate record of the patient’s medical and nursing care.
- Supervise medication administration in accordance with the Registered Nurse and Nurse Practice Act.
- Assess and plan patient and family education and discharge needs.
- Recognize and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
- Promote an environment conducive to professional practice by serving as a role model and resource person for other patient services team members.
