Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related technical field is required.
  • Two to five or more years of experience in Modeling and Simulation or Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis for Department of Defense or Intelligence Community programs is required.
  • Hands-on experience using the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration and Modeling for scenario development, analysis, or model configuration is required.
  • Familiarity with scripting or programming, such as AFSIM scripting, Python, or MATLAB, is required to automate runs and post-process data.
  • The ability to interpret and model operational concepts, threat laydowns, and system characteristics from government documentation and subject-matter experts is required.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and briefing skills, including experience presenting technical results to government customers, are required.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret clearance is required.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and configure Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration and Modeling models, entities, and scenarios for engagement-, mission-, and campaign-level analyses.
  • Translate operational concepts, requirements, and threat environments into executable AFSIM representations and analytic runs.
  • Develop and modify AFSIM behaviors, parameters, and configurations to evaluate system performance and warfighting effectiveness.
  • Use scripting and AFSIM tools to automate scenario execution, parametric studies, and sensitivity analyses.
  • Work with government analysts, operators, and system engineers to define study objectives, measures of effectiveness, and required outputs.
  • Analyze simulation outputs, generate visualizations, and prepare briefings and reports for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support verification and validation of models and scenarios, including documentation of assumptions, limitations, and data sources.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, user guides, and contract deliverables in accordance with customer standards.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience supporting AFLCMC, AFRL, or other Dayton-area Department of Defense organizations on Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis tasks.
  • Background in air, space, or multi-domain operations, electronic warfare, or command and control modeling.
  • Experience with C++ or other compiled languages used to extend or customize AFSIM components.
  • Familiarity with data visualization and analysis tools such as Python, MATLAB, or Excel.
  • Prior experience working as a government contractor delivering technical reports, briefings, and contract data requirements lists.
