Requirements
- A high school diploma is required.
- Basic computer knowledge, internet proficiency, and keyboarding proficiency are required.
- Regular and reliable attendance is required.
- The ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems is required.
- The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce sensible answers is required.
- The position requires sitting approximately 90 percent of the day, with walking or standing for the remainder.
Responsibilities
- Assist the senior representative in resolving insurance claim issues, including incorrectly paid and unpaid claims.
- Review denied claims and sort them into the proper category for resolution.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Operate standard office equipment, including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, and telephones.
Desired Qualifications
- Related work experience is preferred but not required.
- General knowledge of insurance terms and claim processing is preferred.
- Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-9, and ICD-10 coding values after training.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology after training.
