Technical Project Manager – Target Costing (VA) - Multiple Teams

Job Description

The Technical Project Manager – Target Costing (VA) is responsible for driving target costing and VA performance for eDrive products throughout the product development lifecycle. The position defines and tracks product cost targets, identifies cost gaps and leads cross-functional cost optimization initiatives to ensure cost competitiveness and achievement of project targets.

• Define and track target costs for eDrive projects from SOD, ensuring alignment with project targets.

• Establish product cost structures, analyze cost gaps and identify key cost drivers across components, systems and manufacturing processes.

• Drive VA idea generation, feasibility assessment and implementation to achieve cost targets.

• Coordinate engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, finance and project teams to implement cost optimization measures.

• Consolidate and analyze key cost data, including primary costs, RTO, product costs, target gaps and VA performance KPIs.

• Benchmark internal and external cost structures and identify opportunities for cost improvement.

• Organize cost workshops and drive cross-functional measures to achieve target costs and improve cost competitiveness.

• Monitor VA implementation progress, validate cost savings and manage cost-related risks and deviations.

• Collaborate with CN plants and UAES to drive integrated cost optimization and share best practices.

• Prepare cost reviews and management reports, ensuring transparency of cost status and improvement progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Production Technology, Electrical Engineering or a related field.

• 3–5+ years of experience in target costing, value analysis, cost engineering or automotive project management.

• Solid knowledge of product cost calculation, cost structures, manufacturing processes and VA/VE methodologies.

• Experience in automotive or eDrive product development and manufacturing is preferred.

• Strong analytical, project management and cross-functional coordination skills, with a clear cost-oriented mindset.

• Proactive, independent and result-oriented, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Fluent in written and spoken English; Chinese is required. German is an advantage.
