Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Three to five years of relevant professional experience.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and adaptability.
  • Ability to manage sensitive, confidential financial details with care.
  • Applicants must provide a cover letter, resume or curriculum vitae, and contact information for three professional references.
Responsibilities
  • Represent the University of Maine at Farmington as an ambassador on and off campus through public presentations, information sessions, and panels.
  • Conduct 8 to 12 weeks of recruitment travel each year to high schools, college fairs, receptions, and community organizations.
  • Provide coverage for 4 to 8 weekend campus events annually.
  • Evaluate prospective candidates in an assigned territory and build relationships with prospective inquiries, admitted students, families, faculty, coaches, and staff.
  • Counsel families and prospective student-athletes about scholarship opportunities, the financial aid process, award packages, and checklist completion.
  • Partner with the Peer-to-Peer Financial Literacy and Education Program to design financial education initiatives for incoming families.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience in higher education, admissions, recruitment, territory management, or yield events.
  • Prior experience in financial aid, including FAFSA processing, counseling, or managing loans and scholarships.
