(PRESS RELEASE) SINGAPORE, Singapore, 2-Oct-2026 - /EuropaWire/ - FL Technics Indonesia has been appointed as the first MRO partner in Indonesia under a service support agreement with GE Aerospace for avionics systems covering Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 aircraft. The formal signing ceremony took place at MRO Asia Pacific 2026 in Singapore. The agreement brings GE Aerospace's technical support directly into FL Technics Indonesia's hangars at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, giving airline operators easier access to specialised avionics maintenance. "Avionics is the backbone of aircraft systems, an area we're always working to keep at the highest standard, with the best resources and expertise behind it," said Martynas Grigas as Chairman of FL Technics Indonesia. "This partnership with GE Aerospace lets us bring an added layer of expertise directly into our operations. It's part of how we keep improving our service with high safety standards and reliable maintenance solutions as our airline customers' operational needs evolve." Matt Burns, General Manager of Avionics for GE Aerospace said: "We are proud to work with FL Technics Indonesia as it expands its capabilities in a dynamic and growing aviation market. GE Aerospace beats Lockheed Martin with 18% revenue growth and $52.3B forecast for 2026

GE Aerospace and Lockheed Martin represent contrasting investment opportunities in the aerospace and defense sector. GE Aerospace, focused on aircraft engine design and maintenance, reported fiscal 2025 revenue of nearly $46 billion, up 18.5% year-over-year, with net income of roughly $8.7 billion. Lockheed Martin, the world's largest defense contractor, posted fiscal 2025 revenue of approximately $75.1 billion, growing 5.7%, with net income of close to $5.0 billion. The F-35 programme represents roughly 27% of Lockheed's total sales. GE Aerospace trades at a forward P/E of 41.3x compared to Lockheed's 17.0x. For fiscal 2026, GE Aerospace expects revenue growth exceeding 18% to $52.3 billion, whilst Lockheed anticipates roughly 5% growth to $79.1 billion. Both companies face distinct risks: GE from commercial aviation cycles, Lockheed from government spending dependency.

GE Aerospace stock trades at 36.9 P/E amid parts shortage risks slowing $33.3B services growth

GE Aerospace stock trades at a price-to-earnings ratio of 36.9, significantly higher than the S&P 500's 22.1. This premium valuation faces pressure from supply chain constraints affecting the company's largest business segment. Management acknowledged in July that supply limitations, rather than demand, now constrain growth in its services division. Spare parts delinquencies increased 20% from Q1 to Q2 2026 due to material shortages, despite strong demand and a backlog exceeding $210 billion. The Commercial Engines & Services segment, which generated $33.3 billion in fiscal 2025, is most exposed to these delays. Commercial services revenue grew 26% in Q2 2026, but supply issues threaten continued expansion. GE Aerospace shares fell 14.7% over three months whilst the S&P 500 gained 3.5%. Management reports double-digit increases in priority supplier materials, though supply has not yet matched demand.

A new generation of luxury turboprops could rival your private jet.

A new generation of luxury turboprops could rival your private jet. State-of-the-art tech and go-anywhere capability are other key features of recent aircraft models. Turboprops have long maintained a utilitarian reputation. "They can take a lot of weight out of a very short field, a high field, and even an unimproved field," says industry analyst Brian Foley. "Like a rugged S.U.V." But a new class of more luxurious and technologically sophisticated turboprops may shift that perception. Planes such as the dual-engine Beechcraft King Air 360ER and single-engine models that include the Beechcraft Denali, Pilatus PC-12 Pro, and Daher TBM 980 are elevating the cabin experience to rival that of private jets, while enabling greater flexibility and luring new buyers. "A person might have the resources to jet around. But when they want to do some mountain-type flying, remote-type flying, these aircraft would fit the bill better than a jet would," Foley says. He describes the most upscale turboprops as having "a Ferrari feel." The redesigned Pilatus thus debuts a "more sophisticated" interior, according to Jérôme Zbinden, the brand's head of marketing. BMW's Designworks consultancy created the cabin themes, which incorporate better exterior visibility, new storage spaces, and taller, fully reclining, hand-stitched-leather executive seats. Even the more workaday King Air ups the luxury quotient with premium customizable materials. These planes also now integrate satellite internet, allowing passengers to stream entertainment and make phone and video calls without interruption. "It makes it more pleasurable to travel for the family members or friends or hunting buddies," Foley says. Pilatus and Daher have also made major cockpit upgrades with the Garmin G3000 Prime avionics system. "This provides a more intuitive way to control the airplane with more touch-screen surfaces," fewer menus, and larger secondary displays, according to Michel Adam De Villiers, Daher Aircraft's vice president of sales. "They give you a more global vision and situational awareness." Garmin's system adds another layer of safety with its Autoland feature. In the event of pilot incapacitation, the system will "broadcast an emergency signal, look at the weather in the surrounding area, decide what airport to head to, communicate with the tower, and come to a complete full-stop landing," Foley says. An even bigger change is on the horizon, with the all-new Beechcraft Denali planning to enter service next year. It will combine the advanced avionics, comfort, and versatility of its competitors with G.E. Aerospace's new Catalyst engine that promises 10 percent higher cruise power, almost 20 percent lower fuel consumption, reduced emissions, greater durability, and longer range. "That could be a real game changer," Foley says. The turboprop is finally trading its toolbox for a tuxedo. Read more on:
