Lucid Group said it secured $750 million in fresh funding commitments from Uber Technologies and Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund.
Lucid Group has appointed Silvio Napoli as its next chief executive officer. Napoli, formerly chairman and CEO of Schindler Group, will join Lucid's board of directors and relocate from Switzerland to the US. Napoli brings decades of global industrial leadership experience, particularly in manufacturing excellence, operational discipline and capital allocation. At Schindler, he led the vertical transportation industry's shift towards a technology-enabled, service-oriented business model whilst managing large-scale global operations. Interim CEO Marc Winterhoff will continue as chief operating officer when Napoli assumes the role. During his tenure, Winterhoff strengthened Lucid's execution and operational discipline whilst expanding its strategy. Napoli will focus on scaling production of Lucid Gravity and Lucid Air, advancing the upcoming midsize platform vehicles, and accelerating the company towards positive free cash flow and profitability.

Lucid Group shares have fallen 61% over the past six months, though the electric vehicle maker showed some progress in recent quarters.
