Requirements
  • A four-year degree in engineering, building science, or construction management is required.
  • Three to five years of experience in the commercial contracting sector is required.
  • Working knowledge of applicable company processes and procedures is required.
  • Strong client relations, organizational, written communication, and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, is required.
  • Ability to travel nationally multiple times per month is required.
  • Ability to work in construction settings, including confined spaces and extreme heights, and perform physical activities such as climbing, bending, kneeling, standing for long periods, and lifting more than 50 pounds is required.
  • Ability to work safely in hot, cold, humid, and wet conditions is required.
Responsibilities
  • Train and support the career development of assigned project engineers.
  • Support project pursuits across Design-Bid-Build, Construction Manager at Risk, and Design/Build delivery methods, including takeoffs, subcontractor solicitation, and bid review.
  • Obtain project permits and lead permitting activities.
  • Create and maintain the site Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan book and state and local Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan permit and Notice of Intent records.
  • Write, submit, track, and negotiate subcontracts, purchase orders, and rental agreements with the Project Manager.
  • Update project forecasts and submit financial status reports to the Project Manager for review.
  • Prepare owner and subcontractor change orders for Project Manager review.
  • Negotiate subcontractor schedules of values, review monthly completion percentages, and prepare monthly owner pay applications.
  • Plan and lead owner meetings.
  • Plan and assist the Superintendent with subcontractor pre-construction and weekly subcontractor meetings.
  • Prepare and submit weekly or monthly owner reports to the Project Manager for review.
  • Serve as the project contact for contract and scope issues among the owner, contractor, and subcontractors.
  • Create, manage, track, and distribute Requests for Information from the field to the Architect or Engineer of Record and other parties.
  • Review subcontractor submittals and submit them to the Architect or Engineer of Record for approval based on the plans and specifications.
  • Create, update, and distribute the project schedule.
  • Work with the Project Manager and Superintendent to produce quality control procedures and track their execution.
  • Maintain site safety documentation and coordination.
  • Maintain and distribute project plans, including addenda and bulletins.
  • Maintain project documentation and records, including document, submittal, Request for Information, and change order logs.
  • Coordinate and maintain special inspection documentation.
  • Answer field personnel questions regarding project plans and specifications.
  • Determine appropriate means and methods from project specifications.
  • Apply applicable building codes and regulations.
  • Lead the punch list process and project closeout.
  • Create and update the project lessons-learned document.
  • Create and distribute project closeout materials, including operations and maintenance manuals, as-built documents, and warranties.
