  • Knowledge of RIS systems

  • Graduate of approved Nuclear Medicine Program or current validated Registry from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiology Technology (R)
  • ARRT (R) certification is preferred for this role and CT certification is also preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) certification from ARRT or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
  • 1 year of experience in a clinical nuclear medicine department (preferred)
  • Must be able to comply with NRC and State requirements and maintain records accordingly
  • Demonstrated knowledge of radiation safety and quality control procedures
  • Continuing education to maintain licenses and job position requirements
Responsibilities
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
  • Performs diagnostic imaging examinations and dynamic tests, such as radionuclide angiocardiography and coronary artery imaging studies.
  • Prepares and administers radioactive agents by adhering to established procedures kit preparation as well as IV injection of agents to ensure accurate diagnostic testing/imaging.
  • Sets up equipment and appropriately positions patient to ensure adherence to protocol, cooperation and optimal results.
  • Maintains daily log of radionuclide doses administered to patients, as well as record of tests performed, diagnosis and any other pertinent information. Maintains all records required by State and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations.
  • Calibrates and checks all applicable equipment; maintains equipment by performing scheduled cleaning/tests and documents results; contacts service personnel and notifies supervision of malfunctioning equipment.
  • Implements radiation safety guidelines and conducts proper radiation protection during the imaging process.
  • Performs other related technologist duties as directed by the lead technologist, supervisor or manager, including those related to quality assurance and/or control.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • ARRT (R) and CT certification preferred
  • 1 year of experience in a clinical nuclear medicine department preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification is preferred
