Oviva closes €200 million Series D for AI-supported healthcare.

Oviva closes €200 million Series D for AI-supported healthcare. With one of the largest Series D rounds in Digital Health, Oviva aims to treat chronic diseases earlier, digitally, and scalably. Berlin-based digital health company Oviva has completed a Series D funding round of €200 million. The round consists of primary and secondary capital and is led by Kinnevik. Other investors include Planet First Partners, A.P. Moller Holding, Lunate, EGS Beteiligungen AG, Norrsken VC, as well as existing investor Sofina. Oviva is a European provider of digital, reimbursable therapies for obesity and chronic diseases. This funding ranks among the largest growth rounds in the European digital health sector in recent years. Expansion into additional chronic indications planned. With the fresh capital, Oviva aims to expand its care offerings beyond obesity. Plans include expanding digital therapy programs for hypertension and type 2 diabetes to avoid or better treat costly subsequent conditions early on. Simultaneously, the company is investing in further developing its AI-supported platform, which offers patients personalized therapy pathways and supports medical professionals in daily treatment routines. Digital care against staff shortages and wait times. In Europe, over 200 million adults live with obesity, while access to long-term care is limited. Healthcare systems are increasingly struggling with staff shortages and long wait times. 'By supporting earlier and continuously accompanying patients, we prevent the progression of chronic diseases.' Kai Eberhardt, CEO and co-founder of Oviva According to Oviva, it addresses this gap with certified digital therapy programs that are fully reimbursed by health insurers and public healthcare systems in Germany, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. Patients thus gain location-independent access to interdisciplinary care without months-long wait times. Particularly in the area of obesity therapies, we cannot necessarily understand these deficits in the German healthcare system, at least for qualified approaches by members of the DEG (German Society for Nutrition) and nutrition scientists. Nutritional consultation is still not a protected designation, and anything beyond simple dietary assistance should always be coordinated between nutrition scientists, physicians, and health insurers. This is very important, if only to recognize therapy-induced deficiencies early on and prevent them from arising in the first place. Over one million treated patients and scientifically proven. Since its founding in 2014, Oviva has treated more than one million patients. The effectiveness of the programs is supported by over 90 peer-reviewed studies. Over the past two years, the number of patients has tripled, and in 2025 the company achieved operational profitability. The platform combines an app certified as a medical device with human support through interdisciplinary treatment teams. AI ensures scalability, quality assurance, and efficiency. Long-term oriented investors with impact focus. With Kinnevik and the participating co-investors, the round brings together long-term oriented healthcare investors with a clear impact focus. The goal is to build a scalable care infrastructure that sustainably relieves Europe's healthcare systems.

Digitalhealth company Oviva banks USD 200M Series D funding

Digitalhealth company Oviva banks USD 200M Series D funding. Oviva, a leading European provider of digital care for weight-related and chronic conditions, has secured USD 200M in a series D investment round led by Kinnevik with participation of various investors. This funding will be used to Oviva's scale evidence-based, personalized care to many more people. More than 200 million adults live with obesity and weight-related chronic conditions in Europe. Healthcare systems are strained. Significant clinician shortages and a lack of access to in-person care further exacerbate the issue. Kai Eberhardt and Manuel Baumann founded Oviva to address this challenge through an evidence-based, scalable, digital solution for chronic conditions well integrated within national reimbursement frameworks and physician workflows. Oviva offers a patient-facing interface with access to multidisciplinary care teams helping patients achieve sustainable, best-in-class outcomes. Its AI-enabled platform personalizes support for patients and allows clinicians to focus more on real patient impact and reaching more people. The programs are free of charge for patients given the company's full reimbursement status in its core markets: Germany, the UK, and Switzerland. To date, the company has supported more than one million patients to date and over the past two years, it has tripled new patient intake, and achieved cash-flow profitability in 2025, underscoring the scalability and durability of its product and business model. The effectiveness of Oviva's programs is also proven by over 90 peer-reviewed studies. Kinnevik led Oviva's USD 220m Series D round with a USD 100m investment, through a combination of primary and secondary capital. Kinnevik is now Oviva's largest shareholder, joining a strong group of new long-term investors and existing backers, among them Temasek and Sofina. Further participants in the series D round are Planet First Partners, A.P. Moller Holding, Lunate, EGS Beteiligungen AG, Norrsken VC. The financing will support Oviva in meeting growing demand, expanding into additional markets and chronic conditions such as high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes, as well as further advancing its AI-supported platform. Kinnevik's Senior Investment Director, Christian Scherrer, said, "Obesity is a multi-billion-dollar challenge which costs European countries more than 1.5% of GDP each year. This is where Oviva presents a rare win-win-win opportunity: better patient outcomes, meaningful time savings for physicians, and lower costs along with productivity gains for health systems. Oviva has found an incredibly strong product market fit. Kai and Manuel have impressed us with their clinical rigor, disciplined execution at scale, and a genuine commitment to impacting patients and health systems for the better. We look forward to partnering with the entire Oviva team to realize their vision of becoming the European leader in virtual chronic care."
