Requirements
  • An Associate’s Degree, or a high school diploma and three years of healthcare experience.
  • Obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of the hire date.
  • Complete state and, if applicable, federal criminal background checks as required for regulated areas.
  • Have two years of experience in a healthcare management or supervisory position.
  • Maintain the health and physical ability needed to assist patients and move equipment and supplies, including lifting up to 60 pounds, pushing carts, and positioning patients.
  • Work in a clinical environment with regular and constant exposure to communicable diseases and bloodborne pathogens.
Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, implement, and evaluate patient-care delivery in accordance with policies, procedures, philosophy, and mission.
  • Develop, implement, and support strategies for quality patient care and positive patient relations in a teaching environment.
  • Ensure staff provides effective, quality care consistent with policies, procedures, access standards, and service standards; monitor and evaluate quality of care.
  • Identify opportunities to improve patient care and coordinate activities between clinical services and other clinical units.
  • Facilitate departmental policies and procedures and ensure compliance with applicable regulations, including CLIA, OSHA, and Medicare requirements.
  • Promote customer satisfaction in a professional and constructive manner.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director to establish and achieve program goals.
  • Coordinate, organize, and delegate departmental operational activities for effective and efficient service delivery.
  • Determine service needs related to patient and staff requirements with the Director/Administrator of Clinical Services.
  • Ensure patient-focused care and resolve identified patient-care issues.
  • Review outcomes and evaluate operational systems to support ongoing improvement, team building, and staff development.
  • Collaborate with medical staff, physicians, and ancillary service providers to plan optimal patient care, review practices and services, and resolve issues.
  • Select, hire, train, manage, and continuously evaluate employees.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and coach and counsel employees regarding performance deficiencies.
  • Establish goals and provide follow-up in accordance with Human Resources policies.
  • Ensure policy compliance and that staff meets access and service standards.
  • Establish communication systems to keep personnel informed of operations.
  • Develop competent staff through orientation, in-service training, continuing education, and professional development.
  • Assist with creating and overseeing clinic budgets.
  • Manage personnel, materials, services, staffing patterns, schedules, payroll documents, equipment, supplies, and budget requests for cost-effective operations.
  • Review trends with the Medical Director and Administrator and develop long-range budget plans.
  • Participate in committees and complete additional assigned projects.
  • Directly supervise support staff within the clinical unit, including nursing, ambulatory care, insurance, coordination, patient registration, and technical staff.
