Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic support and coordinate operations for the Materials Management group, including requisitioning, operating room supplies, supply logistics, distribution, inventory control, receiving services, client services support, and staff oversight.
  • Manage Distribution, Receiving, Inventory, and Warehouse teams, including staffing schedules, coverage, and evaluations.
  • Educate client staff on the acquisition, use, and correct storage of supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure client staff are trained on Materials Management Information Systems specific to their duties and responsibilities.
  • Direct and manage the daily responsibilities and strategic direction of Inventory Control staff.
  • Manage par-level inventory throughout all client sites.
  • Manage receiving, storeroom, distribution, and inventory management.
  • Manage the process for invoicing issues and investigate discrepancies.
  • Establish streamlined and reliable processes for supply replenishment and procurement across departments and inventory locations, including the Operating Room.
  • Assist with establishing supply-chain policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate campus-specific needs, quantities, and standardizations.
  • Develop and implement methods and systems to improve operational efficiency and control supply inventory.
  • Develop and implement Supply Chain inventory-control best practices.
  • Ensure adequate supply levels and coordinate with necessary teams to mitigate risks.
  • Manage maintenance activities for inventory and par locations, including perpetual and non-perpetual inventory and clean supply.
  • Manage backorder adjustments and work to eliminate stockouts.
  • Coordinate location-specific product changes and communication between necessary teams.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce utilization and waste.
  • Develop and implement systems and controls to improve productivity and efficiency of materials-handling operations.
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators.
  • Create standard analyses and reports to track inventory needs by location.
  • Identify key stakeholders and establish ongoing relationships to achieve engagement.
  • Maintain communication with clinical staff to ensure materials meet required standards.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to physicians and staff to develop understanding of inventory-control best practices and meet operational and financial goals.
  • Communicate Inventory Control activities, results, and decisions throughout the enterprise.
