AsiaMedic has become the first site in ASEAN to implement MR31, GE HealthCare's latest generation MRI platform featuring deep learning technology. The Singapore-based imaging centre is among the earliest adopters in Asia Pacific. MR31 incorporates deep learning technologies that reduce scan times and enable detailed examinations across neurological, musculoskeletal and nerve imaging. Sonic DL for 3D delivers up to 12 times scan acceleration, reducing examination times across brain, spine, orthopaedic and body scans. The platform also supports high-quality prostate MRI imaging. AIR Recon DL Phase Correction provides improved visualisation of clinically significant lesions, whilst high-resolution T2-weighted imaging aids lesion localisation for prostate fusion biopsy planning. Shorter scan times mean reduced patient time in scanners and may help decrease repeat examinations caused by movement.
GE HealthCare Technologies announced a 14% dividend increase for the third quarter of 2026. The company's board declared a cash dividend of $0.04 per share, up from the previous quarter. The dividend will be paid on 13 November 2026 to shareholders of record as of 23 October 2026. GE HealthCare is a global healthcare solutions provider specialising in medical technology, pharmaceutical diagnostics, and AI-enabled software solutions. The company operates a $20.6 billion business with approximately 54,000 employees worldwide, serving the healthcare industry through its Advanced Imaging Solutions, Pharmaceutical Diagnostics, and Patient Care Solutions segments.
GE HealthCare has launched CareIntellect for Operations, an AI-powered software application that helps health systems forecast capacity constraints up to 72 hours ahead. The solution analyses hundreds of patient and operational data points to predict bottlenecks and recommend actions to optimise capacity and throughput. The Queen's Health Systems and Duke Health will be the first to implement the application. It uses two proprietary AI models: the Pressure Forecast model, which predicts resource constraints across hospitals and departments, and the Estimated Day of Discharge model, which predicts when patients will be discharged. The tool addresses operational challenges as US inpatient volumes rose 5.3% in 2025, requiring health systems to manage increased demand whilst facing staffing shortages and rising costs.
GE HealthCare has received CE mark approval for its Photonova Spectra photon-counting computed tomography system, enabling commercial sales in markets recognising CE marking. The clearance follows US Food and Drug Administration approval and Japanese regulatory clearance in March 2026. The system uses GE HealthCare's Deep Silicon detector technology to deliver ultra-high definition spectral and spatial imaging. It processes data volumes up to 50 times greater than conventional CT systems, utilising Nvidia's accelerated computing platform. Clinical collaborations are underway at UZ Brussel in Belgium and Rigshospitalet in Denmark to evaluate the system across cardiology, neurology, oncology and musculoskeletal imaging. The CE mark follows more than $5 billion in innovation investment by GE HealthCare.
Vertex Pharmaceuticals has emerged as a standout S&P 500 stock, according to StockStory's analysis. The company, which focuses on developing transformative medicines for serious diseases including cystic fibrosis and sickle cell disease, boasts a market capitalisation of $137.3 billion. Meanwhile, StockStory recommends avoiding two large-cap stocks. GE HealthCare, spun off from General Electric in 2023, faces concerns over stagnant organic revenue growth and declining operating margins. The medical equipment provider has a market cap of $32.4 billion. Wells Fargo also made the avoid list. The diversified financial services company, with a $262.2 billion market cap, has seen its net interest margin shrink by 33.6 basis points over two years, suggesting increased competition or declining loan profitability.
