- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- The candidate must have either a diploma from a Medical Assistant program, at least one year of medical assisting experience, Military Medic training, EMT-Paramedic training, or the equivalent of one year of combined relevant medical assisting experience and education.
- Assist with direct patient care and perform routine specialized medical procedures according to established clinical protocols.
- Assist medical and nursing staff in examining and treating patients.
- Room patients and measure and record vital signs, including height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
- Complete patient interviews and histories.
- Prepare patients for examinations, tests, and treatments, explain procedures, and assist with physician-ordered procedures.
- Assist with examinations and carry out treatments and special tests as needed.
- Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
- Collect blood, urine, and sputum samples and perform routine laboratory tests on samples.
- Medical Assistant certification is preferred.
