As the Director of Finance, you will assist the Executive Director in achieving the Agency’s mission by overseeing financial affairs, developing budgets, and preparing financial analyses and forecasting. Your expertise will guide our financial policies, grants management, accounting practices, and relationships with funding institutions.
The Director of Finance, will:
- Develop, analyze, and interpret statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of performance against budget, fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness.
- Maintain final responsibility for providing the organization and its management with the appropriate financial and operating information and work closely with other department groups on accounting systems and financial planning.
- Directly supervise and collaborate with the Chief Accounting Officer and ensure staff training.
- Prepare budget and financial forecasts, institute and maintain other planning and control procedures (including the cost accounting system) and analyze and report variances.
- Maintain responsibility for compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes.
- Prepare internal and external financial reports.
- Manage reporting and policy making of the fiscal department.
- Forecast short-range and long-range cash requirements and oversee budget variances for all Agency operations.
- Perform long-range forecasting on the health of existing Agency programs as well as advising when to seek new business lines or when to drop existing programs.
- Identify potential funding opportunities (grants, cohorts, etc.).
- Serve as liaison with banking and financial service providers.
- Develop and maintain a fiscal policies and procedures manual.
- Monitor internal controls for compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA preferred.
- Five plus years of experience in fiscal management required.
- Non-Profit fiscal management experience required.
- Fund accounting and grants management experience required.
- Demonstrated success in forecasting, budgeting multiple departments and funding streams.
- Well-developed management skills.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and fiscal accounting software.
- Experience with MIP accounting system preferred.
- Experience with FQHC and State Programs preferred.
