Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • At least six months of experience working in customer service, third-party administrator processing, or benefits administration is required.
  • The role requires clear and professional verbal and written communication.
  • The role requires organizational ability, attention to detail, and listening skills.
  • The role requires the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business materials, technical procedures, benefit plans, and regulations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and applications is required.
  • The employee must be able to sit for prolonged periods while working at a computer and lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain current knowledge of assigned plans and apply that knowledge across job functions.
  • Provide written, verbal, or face-to-face customer service by responding to and documenting telephone and written inquiries according to plan benefits.
  • Update files, including documenting system notes about conversations or actions taken.
  • Process and send member-requested mailers and required forms.
  • Process and send correspondence related to member or claims status.
  • Process enrollments and update member information in applicable systems.
  • Distribute communications related to regulatory requirements.
  • Initiate action requests to appropriate departments for necessary claims, retirement, or eligibility adjustments and follow up to ensure completion.
  • Research and resolve complex and technical issues and irregularities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Call center experience in benefits claims, billing, or eligibility is preferred.
  • Bilingual ability is preferred.
