The Solution Architect is a subject matter expert and business process technologist who works as part of a team to manage our overall solution design and implementation of Anthology’s student information system (SIS), Anthology Student. Solution Architects should be able to lead design decisions across development, configuration, integration, infrastructure, security, and change management. This role balances a project’s business needs while leading functional and non-functional requirements, helping customers to transform and modernize their operations. In addition to their technical knowledge, Solution Architects need to have the ability to engage with business users and decision makers at all levels. The successful candidate will strive to foster excellent end user experiences, build streamlined business processes and workflows, maximize existing platforms, and look forward to innovation by embracing new technologies and methods.
Primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing critical guidance and support from presales through the remainder of the project lifecycle including process reengineering and integration design
- Facilitating solution design/blueprinting sessions and documentation based on industry best practices as well as identifying and implementing solutions to solve customer problems
- Guiding implementation team with data conversion quality, configuration, functional design documentation, and user acceptance testing
- Managing shared responsibility of Functional and Technical teams during implementation to ensure solutions and modifications are designed with integrity and documentation is adhered to
- Playing a vital role in translation between Functional and Technical teams
- Following the prescribed Anthology implementation methodology and tools, understanding the key activities and deliverables for client engagement and internal projects
- Driving continuous process improvement in the implementation methodology and best practices
- Conducting in-progress project reviews to ensure compliance with project goals and operability of solution; working with project team to manage the quality of the deliverable throughout the project lifecycle
- Taking ownership and responsibility for overall project success
- Coaching and mentoring Implementation Consultants to further their professional growth and development
- Participating in after-hour meetings with management and customers, as needed
- This role requires approximately 75% travel
The Candidate:
Required skills/qualifications:
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- At least 5 years of experience in higher education
- At least 5 years working with project teams in software installation, configuration, customization, or implementation
- Demonstrated experience conducting presentations, in-person training sessions, and/or online/webcast training
- Demonstrated experience in data management and transformation or intermediate experience with Excel (Power Query and Power Pivot)
- Adaptability to quickly learn new technologiesto explain all Anthology products and services
- Software troubleshooting skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proven effective listening skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team and matrixed environment
- Proven track record of building customer relationships, persuading and influencing decisions and overcoming objections
- Highly developed networking skills to establish strong internal relationships to achieve results
Preferred skills/qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Experience in higher education with a focus on business process modeling, technical writing, and software implementation
- Relational database managementexperience including queries, reporting, and administration (SQL, ODATA)
- Understanding of business intelligence tools, MS Power BI
Pay range is $103,800 - $120,000/year depending upon experience. We use national and industry-specific survey data to assist in determining compensation. Additionally, we consider factors such as external market rate, budget for the role, and the compensation rates of current employees performing the same function. Some roles will have variable pay.
