Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Rapha completed a May 2025 funding round and targets EBITDA-positive results by 2027.
  • January 2026 USA Cycling kits and 2026 Hiut collabs refresh product heat and margins.
  • Shanghai Clubhouse expansion deepens China presence and taps Beijing and Shanghai RCC growth.

What critics are saying

  • Rapha posted eight straight loss-making years and a £17.2 million operating loss in 2024.
  • Five Clubhouses close by April 2026, signaling demand weakness and a smaller physical footprint.
  • If the 2028 Olympics miss consumer traction, Rapha's turnaround story collapses into permanent niche relevance.

What makes Rapha unique

  • RCC clubhouses fuse retail, café, rides, and community better than pure ecommerce brands.
  • Rapha still owns premium cycling credibility through pro kits, elite fabrics, and race collaborations.
  • The 2026 USA Cycling partnership extends Rapha into Olympics, BMX, MTB, and track.

Rapha and Palace Skateboards create EF education-tibco-svb and ef education-easypost team kits to celebrate the return of Tour de France Femmes.

Rapha and Palace Skateboards create EF education-tibco-svb and ef education-easypost team kits to celebrate the return of Tour de France Femmes. The switch-out team kits and full livery are bound to turn heads; the commercial collection to also include matching casual wear and the Cannondale SuperSix EVO frameset. This year, the party doesn't end in Paris when the men sprint onto the Champs-Élysées. For the first time since the '80s, women will also get to race on cycling's biggest stage at the Tour de France Femmes. It's a seminal moment for the sport, the fans and the riders, one that makes this race more than just another Tour de France. Now that everyone is invited, the summer is set for a Tour de Force. To celebrate the majesty of the Tour de Force, Rapha partnered once again with Palace Skateboards to create a striking limited-edition switch-out kit for the riders of the EF Education-TIBCO-SVB and EF Education-EasyPost teams. In addition, the teams' livery will receive a complete overhaul that will see the entire fleet of Cannondale race bikes, including the Cannondale SuperSix EVO, which will be sold commercially, as well as POC helmets and Crocs, decked out with distinct designs in collaboration with Palace. Team partners WHOOP and Wahoo have joined in as well, creating their own designs inspired by the kit. In the women's and men's teams, Palace and Rapha have the perfect partners: both race with character and have never been afraid to break from cycling's dusty traditions. Upon these daring shoulders, the kits are set to turn heads across the world and push the boundaries of the sport. "I'm just thrilled with the kit that Rapha and Palace Skateboards have designed to celebrate the return of the women's Tour de France. Women's cycling has been growing steadily over the past couple of decades, but the return of the Tour de France will accelerate this growth and further our search for equality," said Linda Jackson, the founder and owner of the EF Education-TIBCO-SVB team. "It's a true honor to have the EF Education-EasyPost men's team racing their Tour de France in a jersey that celebrates women's cycling. It's been a very long road to get to this point, and all of us, the riders, staff and management, realize the significance of this jersey and will be proud to wear it." The design narrative of the second Rapha and Palace collaboration righteously celebrates the Tour de France Femmes. After 33 years, women are finally able to return to race and they are ready to show the world what it's been missing. Rapha and its designs regularly refer back to the sport and cycling history whilst Palace is disruptive, witty and always surprising, authentically straddling the worlds of high fashion, streetwear and core skate. "The changeout is our way of celebrating women in sport and the Tour de France Femmes. It's wild, it's bold, and it's an exciting time for the cycling world and long overdue. It's an honor for our team to race in this kit in advance of the women's Tour de France. Both races will be incredible, and we'll fight to keep this kit and its celebratory message at the front of the race this July," said Jonathan Vaughters, the CEO of the EF Education-EasyPost team. Since returning to the men's pro peloton in 2019 as a partner of EF Education First, Rapha has designed to disrupt. The first collaboration with Palace for the 2020 Giro d'Italia did not fall short of expectations and the kit created was something altogether different, merging the worlds of fashion and cycling and changing the face of the sport once and for all. The EF Education-TIBCO-SVB team kit will include the Women's Pro Team Aero Jersey, Women's Pro Team Training Jersey and Women's Pro Team Bib Shorts II and the EF Education-EasyPost team kit consists of the Pro Team Aero Jersey, Pro Team Training Jersey and Pro Team Bib Shorts II. Both team kits are complemented by special editions socks, caps and musettes. The change out extends to the full range of team bikes from Cannondale to celebrate the return of women to Le Tour. Every element of the frame design of the SystemSix, SuperSix EVO and SuperSlice is bold and intentional to seamlessly combine with the Rapha + Palace team kit that both the men's and women's teams will don at the Tour. Unique touches extend beyond the obvious elements of the design; each SuperSlice incorporates easter eggs for each rider to match their personality and riding style. Off the bike, there is a range of special edition casual wear from Rapha + Palace, which will be worn by the teams at the Tour. The details of the off-bike collection will be revealed soon. Both Rapha + Palace collections will be available through Rapha online, in select Rapha Clubhouses and through Palace online and in store. The Cannondale SuperSix EVO frameset will be available through rapha.cc, palaceskateboards.com and cannondale.com. All of the Rapha + Palace items will be sold in very limited numbers and to give everyone the best chance of accessing the collection there will be three drops at localised times in the UK, EU, Canada and the USA and the Asia-Pacific region. A select range of Rapha + Palace on-bike items will be made available exclusively to the Rapha Cycling Club members who were active on or before the 28th of June or have renewed a previously lapsed membership by the day preceding the commercial launch, the date of which will be announced soon. Want pockets on your kit? Have nine! Rapha updates its Brevet long-distance collection.

Want pockets on your kit? Have nine! Rapha updates its Brevet long-distance collection. Updated cargo bib shorts, new jerseys with "floating" pockets, refined reflective detailing and a more speed-oriented fit headline Rapha's latest evolution of its long-distance Brevet range Tue, May 19, 2026 00:01 Rapha has updated its Brevet collection, introducing increased storage, a revised fit, a new chamois and updated reflective stripe detailing. Rapha says the updated collection offers a "performance edge" without compromising comfort, with a greater emphasis on the demands of ultra-racing. The range is available now, with prices starting at £16 for accessories and rising to £260 for the Cargo Bib Shorts III. Rapha describes its Brevet collection as "endurance cycling apparel for long-distance riding, ultra-racing and bikepacking adventures combining all-day comfort, reflective visibility and practical storage". The latest updates remain rooted in long-distance riding, but place a greater emphasis on the growing world of ultra-endurance racing. Ultan Coyle, Rapha's Chief Creative Officer and two-time TCR finisher, says:"Brevet is built around a simple idea: over long distances, comfort and speed are not opposites. They rely on each other. Comfort keeps you moving. Speed helps you cover ground efficiently. The work has been to find the balance between the two, so the rider feels supported hour after hour, day after day. It is kit for the long haul, when the finish line might be days away rather than hours." The new pieces feature increased storage, a new chamois, and refined detailing, while retaining the range's signature horizontal stripe design. The stripes are reflective on all pieces and have a new perforation and dot-style pattern, which Rapha says are "significantly lighter and more flexible than their older counterparts, allowing greater movement across the chest for added comfort". The Brevet Cargo Bib Shorts III (£260) are the most interesting of the updated products, described as the brands "lightest ever cargo bib shorts". They are constructed from "lightweight, durable, high-performance Italian fabrics", with the main body of the shorts made from 64% recycled material. The Cargo Bib Shorts III now feature four pockets - one on each leg and two at the lower back - along with a new chamois said to deliver the comfort needed for the world's most demanding ultra-endurance events. The women's version also includes a nature break system. To pair with the carbo bib shorts, there are two updated jerseys - the Brevet Merino Jersey III (£195) and the Brevet Lightweight Jersey III (£160). The Merino Jersey III is a wool layer designed for changeable conditions, combining Rapha Performance Merino (RPM) with recycled polyester for natural thermoregulation and odour resistance, while the Lightweight Jersey III is aimed at hot-weather riding, using "ultra-lightweight, fast-drying fabrics" to manage heat and moisture. Both jerseys feature increased storage with Rapha's new Brevet Air Pockets - a "floating" five pocket system (three open and two zipped) that lifts away from the body when loaded and works with an integrated mesh panel to improve airflow and reduce heat build-up on the lower back, according to the brand. The fit has also been revised, with a nod to a growing focus on speed. It now features a shorter body than before, and riders are advised to stick to their usual Pro Team or Classic size. 2026 Rapha Brevet collection (Image Credit: Rapha) Also newly launched is the updated Brevet Wind Gilet III (£140), which is described as "a resilient, high-visibility barrier against wind and road spray with a two-way zipper for easy access and temperature control". It features its own integrated storage pocket for easy storage when not in use. The Brevet Packable Backpack (£90) is a new addition to the range allowing you to carry extra cargo on the move whether you're commuting, riding to a campsite or picking up essentials mid-ride. It has a 10-litre capacity, Rapha's signature Brevet reflective stripe and its own internal pocket that is said to compress down small enough to fit in a jersey pocket. Speaking on the range as a whole, Transcontinental Race (TCR) champion Victor Bosoni said, "What I love most about the new Rapha Brevet range is how it reduces mental load during ultra-distance riding. When you spend entire days and nights on the bike, you need equipment you never have to question. Comfort, practicality, layering, visibility - everything simply works so you can focus entirely on moving forward and enjoying the journey". Pricing and availability. The Rapha Brevet range is available to buy now with prices starting at £16 for the water bottle and going up to £260 for the cargo bib shorts. Key pieces include: * Brevet Lightweight Jersey III - £160 * Brevet Merino Jersey III - £195 * Brevet Cargo Bib Shorts III - £260 * Brevet Wind Gilet III - £140 Accessories in the range include mitts, socks, a cap, bottle and a packable backpack, priced between £16 and £60. 'It is a painful decision but it is the right call' - Rapha to close five Clubhouses across USA and UK

'It is a painful decision but it is the right call' - Rapha to close five Clubhouses across USA and UK. (Image credit: Rapha) Rapha is to close five of its Clubhouses due to changes "needed" at the British cycling clothing brand, it was revealed on Friday afternoon. Boulder, Chicago, Miami and Seattle in the USA along with Manchester in the UK are the locations to be closing. There are 20 other Clubhouses, effectively stores with cafés which offer events and social rides, across the world. Fran Millar, Rapha's CEO, called it a "painful decision" but the "right call" in a statement. Manchester is set to close next Sunday, 18 January. "Rapha's Clubhouses are cultural anchors for the Rapha community worldwide, run by brilliant, hardworking teams that are our brand's greatest advocates," she said. "They are places to belong, to be inspired, and to discover its products. "So, this announcement is really tough. The following Clubhouses will be closing before April 2026: Boulder, Chicago, Manchester, Miami and Seattle. "This brand was built on meaningful customer experiences and storytelling both online and offline. At its best, no one does it better - and being at its best is my key priority. Closing these Clubhouses means Cyclingweekly can focus on richer customer experiences at flagship locations, regional rides and events, and online worldwide. "I have been honest that Cyclingweekly need to make changes at Rapha to bring greater focus. 'Simpler, better' is the guiding principle behind this decision. It is a painful decision but it is the right call for the brand and its customers in the long-run.
