AKA Communications welcomes senior hire to lead GCC business.

AKA Communications welcomes senior hire to lead GCC business. 22 October 2026 6:07 AM 2 mins read AKA Communications has appointed Chloe Boston as Senior Director, GCC. Based in the agency's Dubai office, she leads AKA's Middle East business and works closely with AKA's UAE and London teams. She reports to Founders Antony Rettie and Katrina Kutchinsky, . Chloe joins from Knight Frank, where she led PR and Communications for the real estate consultancy across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Egypt. She began her career in London at PRCO Group before moving to the UAE in 2020, where she spent five years with the agency, latterly as Associate Director, leading campaigns across the GCC, Europe and the UK. Her experience spans luxury hospitality, F&B and real estate, working with market-leading global brands including Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, Rocco Forte Hotels, Hilton LXR, Azumi, Sumosan Twiga, Macklowe Properties and One&Only Private Homes. Her regional track record includes Zuma Dubai and Abu Dhabi, Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach, as well as the launch of MENA's 50 Best Restaurants. Antony Rettie, Co-founder of AKA Communications, said, "Chloe trained in London and has spent six years in Dubai, which is exactly the perspective our clients need. Our ambition has never been a London agency with a Dubai outpost - it is one agency operating across two markets, and this appointment is how we get there." Chloe said, "Over the past six years the hospitality landscape has evolved enormously. There is a huge opportunity in the GCC, both with international brands entering the market and ambitious homegrown concepts looking to grow beyond the region. As we build AKA's business here, I'm looking forward to bringing together the strength of our Dubai and London teams to offer clients international expertise with a deeply local approach." Jeremy will be working alongside Founder and CEO, Matt Collette (pictured right), and the wider leadership team, and will be involved in Stratum, the company's agentic communications intelligence platform. He will also work across the consulting business, focusing on client strategy, growth, and the development of AI-enabled operating models for in-house and agency teams. Commenting on the appointment, Matt said: "Jeremy joins us at a point where we are seeing an acceleration of demand from communications and marketing leaders looking at how AI should reshape the way their functions operate. "They are asking how they can harness agentic AI to rethink what the function itself should become: how people and AI agents work together, how roles and structures change, where decisions and accountability sit, what capabilities should exist inside the organisation and how the function creates and demonstrates value. Jeremy's experience will be central to how we help clients answer those questions across both Stratum and our consulting work." Jeremy brings close to three decades of experience leading communications businesses, having most recently served as Regional Chief Operating Officer at Allison Worldwide. Prior to that, he was CEO of WE Communications Singapore, and held senior roles at Zeno Group and Edelman. "I think communicators will spend less time assembling information and more time deciding what it means," Jeremy told Telum Media. "Monitoring, first-pass analysis, briefing and other repeatable work can increasingly sit with agents. What becomes more valuable is the ability to understand context, make judgement calls and advise leaders when the answer is not obvious. That changes what good looks like for a communications professional. "Knowing how to use AI will quickly become table stakes. The differentiators will be framing the right problem, understanding the business and stakeholder context, directing agents well and recognising when the technology should stop and a person needs to step in." 21 October 2026 9:59 AM 2 mins read Martine Alpins has launched Alpins Advisory, with a focus on corporate affairs, media and reputation. Prosperwell's new Care Growth Index reveals the hidden factors driving occupancy growth in care homes.

Prosperwell's new Care Growth Index reveals the hidden factors driving occupancy growth in care homes. A major new national benchmarking report has revealed that whilst demand for care remains strong, many care home operators are focusing their investment on one side of growth, either generating enquiries or converting them, when the operators pulling ahead are doing both well. The Care Growth Index, produced by Prosperwell in partnership with Care England, Knight Frank and NatWest, is the first large-scale study of sales and marketing performance across UK care homes. Drawing on data from more than 100 operators representing over 400 homes and more than 21,000 beds, it examines how providers generate enquiries, turn interest into residents and sustain occupancy over time. The findings suggest that occupancy depends on two engines working together: the demand engine, how well a home generates enquiries, and the conversion engine, how well it converts them into residents. The report frames these as two interconnected growth engines, demand and conversion, and finds that the strongest-performing operators are distinguished on both counts. They invest deliberately in marketing channels, and they run disciplined enquiry management, follow-up and sales processes behind them. Findings include: * Occupancy is high, but unevenly spread. A meaningful minority of homes sit below the point where the economics start to work against them. * Private demand is growing. Far more operators report rising private occupancy than falling, but how well they capture it varies widely. * The viewing is where the gap opens. The highest performers pull away not at the enquiry stage but at the point families walk through the door. * A handful of habits separate the best from the rest. Senior ownership of sales, persistent follow-up and formal training are consistently linked to stronger conversion, and stacking them pays off most. * Not all channels do the same job. The channels that generate the most enquiries are not always the ones that deliver the most residents. * Investment is going up, but mostly on one side. Most operators plan to spend more next year, and the majority are pointing it at demand rather than conversion. The report suggests that the largest gains come from investing in both engines, and that where either is underdeveloped, occupancy and financial sustainability suffer. Professor Martin Green OBE, Chief Executive of Care England, said: "Occupancy remains one of the most important indicators of sustainability in adult social care, but this report demonstrates that occupancy growth depends on both generating demand and converting it. Providers are increasingly operating in a competitive environment where visibility, commercial capability, responsiveness and customer experience all matter. The Care Growth Index provides incredibly valuable insight into the practical actions providers can take to strengthen occupancy performance, improve sustainability and ultimately ensure more people can access high-quality care when they need it." Tobi Alli-Usman, Founder & Managing Director, Prosperwell, said: "Care Talk is incredibly proud to launch the first Care Growth Index and give the sector a meaningful benchmark for sales and marketing performance. This report demonstrates that occupancy growth is not a matter of marketing or sales alone, but of how effectively providers bring the two together: generating enquiries through the channels they can direct, and converting those enquiries into residents. The report identifies the behaviours, processes and leadership practices that consistently separate higher-performing providers from the rest of the market. Its aim is to give care providers a practical, evidence-based roadmap for sustainable growth." The full Care Growth Index report will be available for general release from Prosperwell and Care England on 29th September 2026.

Hazlewoods success leads to new Cardiff office for growing team.

Hazlewoods success leads to new Cardiff office for growing team. Following its successful Cardiff launch in 2024, Hazlewoods, a leading accountancy and business advisory firm, has moved to a new office to accommodate its expanding team. In under two years, Hazlewoods has gone from having a small presence in the city to a team of 34, with its new South Gate House office providing space for further growth and a prime location. The expansion of the Cardiff team reflects Hazlewoods increasing presence in the Welsh market, with the firm continuing to build relationships with businesses and organisations across the region. Its growing local client base has helped establish the firm in Cardiff and underlines its commitment to supporting businesses across Wales. Tom Davies, Director at Hazlewoods Cardiff, said: "This is an exciting step for Hazlewoods and reflects the progress we have made since launching in the city less than two years ago. "We have built a very strong team here and have been really encouraged by the response from both new and existing clients, reflecting our commitment to developing deep relationships across the region. The new office gives us the space to continue growing while maintaining the collaborative approach that is such an important part of the way we work." Bruce Black, Corporate Tax Director, said: "This move creates the environment we need to continue finding and developing local talent to build the team, while maintaining the high level of service our clients expect from Hazlewoods. It reflects so positively just how much the Cardiff office has developed in such a short space of time." James Morter, Managing Partner at Hazlewoods, said: "It has been very gratifying to see the way that Hazlewoods has been welcomed into Cardiff. Early on we identified a gap in the Welsh market for a firm of our size and experience, and when you combine that with the talent pool in the city, it felt like a natural next step. "The team in Cardiff has done a great job of growing the business and I look forward to seeing that continue. We have the expertise, ambition and people to build a really strong presence in Wales, and the new office gives the team a great base from which to do that." Commercial property adviser Knight Frank represented Hazlewoods on the deal, while their building consultancy team supported the fit-out of the new space. Mark Sutton, Office Agency Partner at Knight Frank Cardiff, said: "Hazlewoods was looking for a space that could support its continued growth in Wales, while offering excellent connectivity and the flexibility to create a workplace suited to its needs. "South Gate House provided the right combination of quality space and a prime city-centre location, and it has been a pleasure to support the team through the move." Hazlewoods is one of the largest independent accountants and business advisers in the South West and Wales, with over 600 employees and a growing presence in Cardiff, alongside its offices in Cheltenham and Bristol. The firm provides audit, accounting, tax and advisory services to corporate and private clients and is particularly well known for its specialist sector expertise across the UK. Last year the firm recorded a turnover of £54.3 million. What do you feel about this?
