About the Role

The primary purpose of the Food Service Worker position is to assist in preparing and serving food to infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, and their family members.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

• Delivers meals and snacks per policy and procedure. Retrieves patient meal trays per policy and procedure. Utilizes knowledge of growth and development when providing services to infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Communicates with infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in a manner which demonstrates an understanding of the patient developmental and cognitive level.
• Formulates patient meal supplement and nourishment.

Qualifications

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED Certificate preferred.
• Ability to read, write speak, and understand English fluently to perform the duties of the position required.
• Effective verbal and written communications.
• Customer service and hospitality- oriented.
• Attention to detail with appropriate follow through.
• Ability to work effectively as a team member.
• Ability to establish effective relationships within a multi-cultural environment.

Compensation (NJ Job Transparency Law)

In compliance with New Jersey’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is $18.36 - $19.42. University Hospital considers multiple factors when determining compensation, including (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s relevant work experience, education and training, key skills, internal equity, market data, and organizational needs.
