Responsibilities
  • Build, maintain, and optimize product detail pages, ensuring descriptions, imagery, attributes, and product benefits are accurate, complete, and aligned with the brand voice.
  • Manage image uploads, asset placement, and quality assurance to ensure product imagery reflects current assortments and meets brand standards.
  • Maintain product page accuracy across launches, assortment updates, and ongoing site changes.
  • Create, maintain, and optimize collection and landing pages for product launches, seasonal updates, promotional events, and marketing initiatives.
  • Manage product categorization, sorting, and placement to improve discoverability and align with merchandising priorities.
  • Ensure collection pages reflect inventory availability, product priorities, and the customer shopping experience.
  • Execute daily site merchandising updates in Shopify, ensuring site content, product information, and merchandising configurations are accurate and timely.
  • Generate and share optimized product detail and collection page URLs with the Retention team, and perform final email campaign quality assurance for product accuracy and real-time inventory availability.
  • Partner with Merchandising, Marketing, Creative, and cross-functional teams to execute promotions, new product launches, and brand storytelling.
  • Identify opportunities to improve site navigation, product discovery, and the shopping journey.
  • Monitor site performance and merchandising key performance indicators using analytics tools to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Use performance insights to inform product placement, collection sorting, and site merchandising decisions.
  • Support A/B testing and conversion rate optimization initiatives focused on product detail and collection page effectiveness.
  • Conduct regular site audits and quality assurance to proactively identify and resolve merchandising, content, and functionality issues.

Brian Warmoth | Sep 14, 2026 The online marketplace's new Lebanon, Indiana, facility brings Shein's total footprint in the state to more than 2.5 million square feet as the company enters its post-IPO era. Less than two weeks after Shein's initial public offering in Hong Kong, the online marketplace that made its name in fashion opened the doors to a new warehouse in Lebanon, Indiana. Shein's latest distribution warehouse in the U.S. measures 737,000 square feet, according to the company's official announcement. The heavily automated facility marks an expansion of Shein's presence in Indiana, where Shein now claims to occupy more than 2.5 million square feet in total. Shein is No. 67 in Digital Commerce 360's Global Online Marketplaces database. That database ranks the top such marketplaces by third-party gross merchandise value (GMV). What Shein has planned for its new Indiana warehouse. "Shein's continued investment in Indiana reflects our commitment to building a more agile, resilient and innovative fulfillment network while creating economic opportunities in the communities where we operate," said George Chiao, the U.S. president for Shein. "Today's celebration is a testament to the collaboration of our employees, partners and community leaders who have helped make this milestone possible." Chiao noted that Shein was "grateful for the warm welcome and support" it had seen in Indiana. In addition, he said that the company anticipated growing its presence in the state even further. The warehouse will be responsible for creating "hundreds of new jobs" in the area, according to Shein. Its official count includes 1,300 employees already working in Indiana. As it begins operating, Shein expects that the location will support future growth while improving the company's fulfillment capabilities. Shein made Indiana a hub within its U.S. fulfillment network after it established operations there in 2022. Shein's larger growth ambitions. Singapore-headquartered Shein launched its IPO in Hong Kong at the beginning of September following a series of attempts to go public in the U.S. and London. Reportedly, Shein filed confidentially to go public in the U.S. in November 2023. Political challenges and criticism eventually followed, and it ultimately sought out other options. Ultimately, the Hong Kong IPO valued Shein at close to $26.5 billion. That total fell short of the private valuation of $100 billion that it once had in 2022. Still, Shein sees new opportunities ahead. As of September, it cited "hundreds of millions of active customers," which it sells to in "approximately 160 markets." Amid those efforts, Shein reached a deal in May to acquire U.S.-based apparel brand Everlane for $100 million. Everlane ranks No. 265 in the Top 1000 Database, Digital Commerce 360's ranking of the largest North American online retailers. There, Digital Commerce 360 categorizes Everlane as an Apparel & Accessories retailer. Everlane also ranked No. 4 in the first edition of Digital Commerce 360's all-new AI Rankings. Brian Warmoth | Aug 27, 2026 3.5 minutes + videos Amazon's place in Digital Commerce 360's AI Commerce Rankings reflects a deliberate strategy to favor its own AI ecosystem over third-party discovery channels, setting it apart from other retailers, including Walmart. Amazon sales may be high enough for the company to rank No. 1 in Digital Commerce 360's Top 1000 Database. However, that database - which primarily tracks online merchants' annual ecommerce sales, conversion, growth and vendor use - recently added a new ranking system where Amazon ranks significantly lower, and for good reason. In the AI Commerce Rankings, which Digital Commerce 360 and ReFiBuy launched in July, online retailers in the Top 1000 are evaluated by AI-related criteria, piecing together a picture of how well merchants are connecting with shoppers through AI channels, as well as growing that reach over time. In the latest quarterly update, assessing which online retailers AI is helping most, Amazon did not even crack the top 100. But there's more going on beneath the surface of these numbers. Why Amazon's approach to AI commerce is unique. Despite its longstanding status at No. 1 in the Top 1000 when ranked by online sales, Amazon is No. 158 in the AI Commerce Rankings. In the latter, online retailers from the Top 1000 compare based on factors including how accessible their catalog data is to third-party AI agents, how much traffic they get from third-party AI sources and the diversity of those sources. The rankings also track changes in momentum over 90-day periods. "They've said, 'We don't want bots. We're not gonna do any of these things,' so all four doors are closed, and therefore they've lost their number one spot in this," said Scot Wingo, founder and CEO at ReFiBuy. Still, Amazon's resources, agentic commerce strategy and business interests beyond retail make it an outlier for AI use in the Top 1000. First, thanks to Amazon Web Services (AWS) and the associated cloud computing and software services that it sells, Amazon is an active technology provider to other retailers and software vendors that are powering non-Amazon ecommerce sites. In addition, thanks to its nature as a technology company and Amazon-owned AI tools, such as Alexa for Shopping and Buy for Me, the company has an incentive to limit third-party access to its catalog data so it can steer customers toward its AI offerings instead. By comparison, Walmart, which is No. 2 in the Top 1000, is No. 37 in the AI Commerce Rankings. Their 121-rank gap illustrates how differently Walmart and Amazon approach agentic commerce, with Walmart far more open to third-party AI platforms. What's shifting for other online retailers in the AI Commerce Rankings. Like Walmart, other online retailers are creating new opportunities through third-party AI channels as well. And many of them rank far lower than Amazon in the Top 1000. For instance, Nixon, Online Labels and Everlane, which occupied the top three spots in the AI Commerce Rankings in Q2 2026, are No. 722, No. 814, No. 264, respectively, in the Top 1000 by ecommerce sales. That difference demonstrates the disproportionate shares of shoppers that merchants outside of the Top 100 may be reaching through platforms such as ChatGPT and Gemini. Moreover, there may be category-specific growth to be unlocked as well through AI discovery. As Wingo pointed out in a recent conversation with Digital Commerce 360, Automotive Parts & Accessories (which is a merchandise category where Amazon competes as a Mass Merchant) could be one of these. "Every automotive company has a massive catalog," Wingo explained. "And if they just would solve a couple little things on the bot friendliness and add a little bit more data to that catalog, then they'll just be off." Shein acquires Everlane in $100m deal amid debt crisis - report. Shubhendu Vimal Chinese fashion retailer Shein is set to take over US direct-to-consumer label Everlane in a transaction worth around $100m, following board approval, Puck News reported, citing unnamed sources. The deal brings to a close a prolonged period of financial strain for Everlane, which had accumulated $90m in liabilities, comprising a $25m loan from Gordon Brothers and a $65m asset-based revolving credit facility. Private equity company and majority shareholder L Catterton and Everlane chief executive Alfred Chang had been exploring external investment options to address the debt burden, with L Catterton reportedly willing to accept either a co-investor or a complete buyout. According to the report, Shein opted for full ownership. A note to shareholders cited by Puck News confirmed that holders of common stock will receive nothing from the transaction. The report did not disclose whether the deal involves a cash transfer, nor whether preferred shareholders will receive cash or Shein equity. Everlane was established in the early 2010s around a brand identity rooted in sustainability and what it described as "radical transparency" on pricing and supply chain practices. It gained an early audience as a more affordable option within the apparel market, positioning itself as a contemporary basics brand. L Catterton acquired a minority stake in late 2020, a move that coincided with the departure of founder Michael Preysman and marketing lead Alexandra Spunt. Attempts to move the brand upmarket - targeting the space occupied by labels such as Theory and Frankie Shop - did not succeed, and the brand came under growing competitive pressure. The purchase represents a striking turn for a label whose founding principles sit in direct contrast to Shein's business model.
